I hate fake wrestling but I love Brock. Even without the apology I didn't care about what he did after the fight.

Yeah he was in Mir's hometown and everybody was against him, I don't blame him.

        This isn't boxing.

Boxing is a joke with corruption and 1000 different titles. To me, boxing is quite boring as well... but that's just my opinion.

MMA has a chance to be something so much better. The BEST fighters in the world are in MMA, not boxing.

          Yeah, that was awesome.

Jackson: I don't care. I want you to hit him with your groin. That's the mentality I want you to have.

Greg Jackson is awesome. I was thinking earlier how he should probably end up in the UFC Hall of Fame some day. He's coached such an incredible list of UFC fighters and done it so well.

I almost wonder if Brock's antics after the fight were Dana's doing?

Because when the guy was doing the ESPN interview, he didn't come across as a bad guy really. He said that his only beef with Mir was that the guy had beat him. I can get that.

In any case, the guys saying Brock is good for the sport are right---it makes me think of the Pistons teams of the 80's. It helps to make things interesting. Even better I think when the villain is wicked good at his craft.

To me the second shot on Bisping wasn't bad at all. You fight till the refs step in, just like in football you play till the refs blow the whistle same thing.

I've seen worse. Rampage unloaded on Silva a couple times even as the ref was trying to stop him. BJ held his choke on Pulver for too long.

There was nothing technically wrong with what Hendo did, but he even admitted he knew Bisping was out. So it's like, well, he didn't do anything wrong per se, but he still acted like a dick.

And the football analogy doesn't really work. What Hendo did would be like blindsiding a guy who's 30 yards away from the play. Technically legal, but he's still a dick.

                    I thought about the same.

Technically, he stayed within the rules, and I can't complain much.

But he knew Bisping was out... he admitted that. And you'd expect such a veteran to know when the guy is out.

I would just HATE to see someone get seriously injured because of an unnecessary shot like that. And that's certainly the kind of shot that can do some major damage.

Again, not upset about it or anything... just a little disappointed in Hendo.

                      Re: UFC 100

I don't think this will be a popular opinion but I don't see how GSP can be considered the best pound-for-pound fighter when he's got a problem finishing fights. 2 of his 4 title defenses went the distance. 1 of his title defenses he gets knocked out by Matt Serra. The other title defense goes 4 rounds with BJ. He's been dominating in many of these performances but shouldn't the best p-f-p fighter not require 14-out-of-15 rounds in his 3 title defense wins?

You can also count me in the camp of being bored of watching his fights. He might be the busiest non-busy ground-n-pound fighter out there. He certainly controls on the ground but he doesn't do enough damage for someone who likes to keep it on the ground.

He is definitely the best takedown artist in MMA though. His timing is impeccable. If you miss on your attack you will get taken down. He is so good at it that you can't stop him. I've never seen a guy who knows exactly when to go for the takedown like him. Seriously, he is an expert at using opponents momentum against them.

Again, I know this won't be a popular opinion so please don't flame me for having it.

                            I agree.

Hendo acted way bigger of a douchebag then Brock. Hitting Bisping again (especially in the manner of which he did it.. flying at him, full force, going down) when he KNEW Bisping was out cold was douchebaggish.

I mean, don't get me wrong, Hendo is awesome for KOing Bisping, but the aftershot was totally unnecessary. I had issues with guys like Rampage doing it to Wanderlei too.

We're getting Fios in Pittsburgh soon... so maybe they'll be able to branch over to the other side of the state.

Prices for these events are outrageous. My step-dad really wanted to see the fights, so he ordered the HD version. Otherwise, I would have been out at the bars watching for free (well, beer prices).

I don't have as much of a problem with the pre-fight stuff like they did.You want to talk beforehand, go ahead. We'll see what happens once the fight actually starts. And what harm does it really do?

But when Brock got up in Mir's face afterward and flicked off the crowd and pulled that WWF stuff talking about taking the horseshoe out of his butt (whatever that means... lol) and laying on his wife, it's unnecessary and it's bad for the credibility of the sport.

It's got nothing to do with a WWE guy dominating the UFC. I like that someone is so dominant. Like I said in another thread, it's going to be fun to see who Dana White and Joe Silva can put in the octogon to give him a match... other than Fedor (and I'm not even sure about that), I don't know who could.

It's about getting respect and credibility for such a great sport that has gotten a bad wrap in the past. And Brock did nothing but take several HUGE steps back in that respect.

Yes, I'm sure it will get more people watching and will make the UFC more popular. But it wont make the SPORT more popular, and it really tarnishes the reputation when you see a guy out there doing the same stuff they do in fake wrestling, something UFC and MMA has been trying to distance itself from for years.

I say the opposite. He helps it get more attention. He's making people love him or hate him. You're either gonna tune in to see him get knocked out or do the knocking out. This isn't golf. This isn't a "gentlemen" sport.
