Maybe it was because, at 6-foot-3, 263 pounds, Shane Carwin is nearly the same size as, and actually has bigger meat hooks than, Brock Lesnar.

If it’s Carwin (no small feat against the excellent Velasquez) then this wouldn’t just be an intriguing fight, but suddenly a personal one. Carwin, like Lesnar, is a former collegiate wrestling champion. They’re about the same size; although Carwin’s massive 5-XL gloves are actually two sizes larger than Lesnar’s. It’s one reason none of Carwin’s opponents have lasted past the middle of the first round.

Damn that is a HUGE hand. I have pretty large hands myself and a 5XL just sounds damn near unreal.

yep. take a real man's man. A big tough guy, and put his hands next to Carwin's and they will look dainty.

I've got fairly big hands myself, but my construction buddy dwarfs mine...i can only imagine mine would look like a small child's next to his. Andre the Giant had extremely large hands too.

Well, that and the fact that Carwin has faced a long list of cans.

With the obvious exception of Gonzaga, who's good, but that fight wasn't exactly a performance Carwin will want to repeat.

“Alan was a very tough fighter. The damage of the low blow in the beginning of the fight was quite strong. I thought that if he hit me there again I wouldn’t be able to continue the fight. I wanted to take a large break but there was confusion during the fight. I misunderstood the referee saying five minutes in English as five seconds, I continued the fight urgently but this took a big toll on the exhaustion of my physical strength. My eye got injured when I got downed on the first round by a left. I felt an abnormality in my eye after the end of the 1st round. One eye was closed so I didn’t know about my sense of distance. Because I couldn’t see any attacks from my opponent’s right side I received a lot of leg kicks from that side. I didn’t continue with the game plan, the only reason I won was my feeling that I really didn’t want to lose this fight. After the fight when I was in the hospital, Dana White came personally and told me first hand that me and Belcher’s fight was elected as the fight of the night. I was very happy…. Alan is the toughest fighter I have faced and I’m proud to have been able to fight him. I will devote myself from now on so please support me.”

                    Yep he is the man.

Now I'm going to pretend to be Joe Silva for a minute and pick the UFC 100 fighters next fights.

                    Winners
Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin/Cain Velasquez
Georges St. Pierre vs Mike Swick/Martin Kampmann
                    Jon Fitch vs Brock Larson
                    Dan Henderson vs Anderson Silva
                    Yoshihiro Akiyama vs Chael Sonnen
                    Jim Miller vs Joe Stevenson
                    Jon Jones vs Mark Coleman
                    Tom Lawlor vs Denis Kang
                    Shannon Gugerty vs Jason Dent
Dong Hyun Kim vs James Wilks

                    Losers
                    Frank Mir vs Cheick Kongo
                    Thiago Alves vs Marcus Davis
                    Paulo Thiago vs TJ Grant
                    Alan belcher vs Michael Bisping
                    Mac Danzig vs Matt Grice
                    Stephan Bonnar vs Andre Gusmao
                    Jake O'Brien vs Tim Boetsch
                    CB Dollaway vs Dan Miller

Keep in mind these are the fights I would make. Not necessarily the fights I think we'll see next. Joe Silva and I dont always see eye to eye on these sort of things.

Taz Trashes Joe Rogan, Talks Lesnar's UFC 100 Fight

The following is the latest Facebook blog from former WWE star and soon-to-be TNA Wrestling star Taz:

1st off, Congrats to Brock on a strong victory! I know that Brock is a driven athlete with an awesome work ethic...therefore I am not surprised at his success in UFC!

I don't agree with some of the "true hardcore UFC fans" maybe not respecting Brock or the way he may react to a victory.....or his promo after (which I personally loved!). In my opinion, I feel that the MMA world is not in Brock's corner in regards to his MMA career. Lesner MAY be looked at as a "fluke" from the Pro Wrestling genre therefore Brock may not be getting the respect he well deserves! I also feel that the MMA gurus in the world never thought Brock would be as successful as he is...just my opinion.

Well folks...if you haven't noticed the dude is the real deal! And us from the Pro Wrestling industry that know Brock Lesner... realize how legit & credible the man is! It pisses me off when athletes/performers from the industry I have been lucky enough to be in for over 20 years dont get the respect our guys and gals should be receiving! And there or MORE athletes coming from the Pro Wrestling business to dominate in MMA (on deck is Bobby Lashley!) so get use to it!!!

In closing...late last night I heard the true "MMA GENIUS" Joe Rogan say that Brock didn't make many friends last night after his dominate victory. So I would like to say to Mr Rogan-
HEY JOEY....I DON'T THINK LESNER IS LOOKING TO MAKE NICEY NICE WITH ANYONE....ITS THE FRIGGIN FIGHT BUSINESS CHAMP....NO REASON TO KISS *** OR BE PC!!!!

                          Re: UFC 100

                          Here's the deal.
A lot of the die-hard MMA fans don't respect Brock Lesnar for one simple reason. It is not because of his talking after the fight, or that he flicked off the fans (although neither of those things help him) The reason they don't like him, and it's really Dana White's fault, is that they don't feel he earned the right to be where is now. I understand that he is a dominant guy, but he got a title shot against Randy Couture with only three total MMA fights, and a 1-1 record in the UFC. He didn't even have a winning record as a UFC fighter and he was getting a title shot.
Make no mistake about it, he got that title shot cause he could put more a---s in seats, and sell more PPV, not because he was doninant. Lets be honest, who else would Dana give a title shot to who in two UFC fights had one loss, and the other go to decision. Lesnar did dominate Hearing, but he couldn't finish him.
This is why the die hard fans don't like Lesnar. They feel that he was handed the title, without truly earning a shot at it, just to help the UFC's bottom line.
That is why you get all the WWE comparisons, because if you're just gonna take a big name and throw him in a title fight so that you can make more money off of him, then you are crossing the line between true Sport and Sports Entertainment.

The second one is why the first one isn't going to happen next.
Regardless of who wins between Cain and Carwin I don't think they'd chance one of them actually winning (I don't think either will but there's always a chance). Fedor will get it before they do. They usually do a big card in December wich would be perfect timing for Fedor/Lesnar. Winner of the other one is going to have to wait.

He won't until Dana drops some of those conditions about Fedor competing in Sambo competitions specifically... Fedor's a partiotic dude and he wants to always participate in those when he chooses, so Dana's gonna have to make some concessions. That is if Affliction doesn't just fold up after Trilogy, which seems entirely possible at this point. If there's nothing out there but DREAM and the UFC, I'm sure that something would be worked out with the UFC. But Fedor seems adamant about being able to compete in Sambo and not being "owned" by the UFC's contract, which is certianly understandable for a guy who can fight anywhere he wants for big money.
