I was just wondering what Sarah Kaufman's opinion of Anderson Silva was. Thank god this thread came along just in time.

She also thinks BJ Penn is the P4P #1...

And that Brock Lesnar is the most underrated fighter.

But that stuff's not important. Who cares her opinion about that? What everyone was obviously clamoring for was her opinion about Anderson Silva, and fortunately for us we have snakerattle here to keep us up to date.

What's funny is that for all the hate snakerattle gets for being anti-UFC, when he does post some good MMA news/interviews/etc. about Affliction, DREAM, etc. they get NO responses, but when he posts one thing that can be taken as him pushing his anti-UFC agenda, the replies roll in.

The feeling seems to be UFC or bust on the forum.

Question #1 was who the heck is she?
Question #2 was does she fight? Wich she does.
Question #3 was will she get in there with him? Considering she hasn't gotten in with the best women fighters I doubt it.

I don't really watch Japanese MMA, and I don't see enough Strikeforce or Affliction to really get that into it. UFC comes to my house (or the local bar) so often, it's hard to not focus on it...

It'd be like complaining that guys in the Pro Football forum aren't discussing the CFL enough. Whether you like it or not the UFC's way way way on top of the pro MMA world right now.

That's not the same because there are A LOT more relevant fighters outside of the UFC than there are relevant players not in the NFL, NBA, NHL, etc.

Are you kidding? Have you seen most of the threads he's created?

                      http://www.operationsports.com/forum...archid=1778910

A thread for a mundane interview from Aleksander Emelianenko. A thread about how Fedor's training is going. A thread for a mundane interview from Bob Sapp. A thread for the Ray Mercer/Tim Sylvia press conference. A thread for Joe Riggs's irritation with Ken Pavia (!). A thread for mundane interviews from Fedor and Barnett. A thread announcing the match between Mark Hominick and Deividas Taurosevicius (!!). A thread for an Affliction press conference.

No one cares about this stuff. It's not that it's not UFC, it that it's either uninteresting or routine. No one's making threads about how Frank Mir's training is going or about a total run-of-the-mill interview given by GSP, because no one cares about that stuff. And if something like that is somehow noteworthy, we've usually got a single thread set up to discuss it (the Ultimate Fighter season thread, the threads for the individual cards, etc.)

And when snakerattle does post something with more bite on it than "here's video of Fedor in NYC", it's almost always anti-UFC. A thread about Tim Sylvia saying UFC HWs can't beat Fedor, a thread about Sarah Kaufman calling Anderson Silva overrated (and omitting how she calls Brock Lesnar underrated), a thread for Bas Rutten calling Kimbo Slice an *******, a thread for the UFC's sponsorship "racket", a thread for the WEC screwing over its fighters, etc.

I'm not saying he shouldn't be allowed to post this stuff. None of it's out of line. I'm just asking it be consolidated so the forum doesn't continue to be cluttered by these threads which usually get maybe 1 or 2 replies. Put them all in "Snakerattle79's Thread for International MMA News".

I don't see how that Kimbo thread can really be construed as anti-UFC, more like anti-Kimbo and I think those last two about sponsoring and salaries are very relevant pieces of news involving the fighters, anti-ZUFFA or not....

I never said that snakerattle79 should get a pass or that he's that great of a contributor. Most of his stuff is meh, but what I said was that when DOES actually post something of merit, his threads typically get air.

                          True...

But still, the UFC is the juggernaut and it just seems like some people like to hate on them cause they're on top.

When you're here in the US you don't see Dream and all the different Japanese shows. I don't get Showtime, so I don't see most Strikeforce. UFC brought their show to my tv and has gotten me watching their PPV's too. I wouldn't call any other MMA leagues their "equal", though Strikeforce seems to be doing things right.

Why would you expect people here to be all nuts for some random Japanese promotion we don't know about? Even Yahoo's MMA coverage is dominated by UFC because that's what people watch...

It's similar to the Wrestling "smark" who thinks he's elitist because he watches all these indy shows...the people who look down on people who watch WWE as "uncool"...That act just gets old fast, and it's obvious here some people have a serious anti-UFC attitude. I'm not anti any other promotion, I just don't happen to watch them either, so sorry if I don't run and give news on them.

I dont agree with that. The Strikeforece threads get plenty of attention here. Look at the last Strikeforce thread posted here...plenty of replies. Affliction has a card every 3-4 mos so it gets about the amount of attention it deserves. It comes down to what is on TV more. People dont talk about Dream because most people here dont have HDNET and cant watch it.

I totally agree with this. And to piggyback somewhat I like to watch as much MMA as I can get my hands on so I'll participate and start threads dealing with WEC, Strikeforce, Dream, Affliction, etc. What I have noticed is that snakerattle doesn't seem to participate in any of the threads about those organizations if he doesn't start the thread. When I see that kind of behavior I see someone with an agenda. And everybody here pretty much has formed the same opinion of what that agenda is. I think it's more of a case of the community ignoring him than anything.
