UFC Coming to Vancouver and Toronto in 2010

UFC isn't legally allowed to hold a card in both places but that should change very soon.

I want to see GSP vs Silva in the June Vancouver PPV althought it makes more sense to save it for Rogers Centre in Toronto.

At the Fan Expo, one of the owners said Pound for Pound, MMA is more popular in Canada than in the US.

I don't doubt that for a second. Montreal could probably sell out a football stadium for the UFC.

I'd get my tickets for a Rogers Centre event in a heartbeat.

I see at least 2-3 Tapout t-shirts PER DAY on campus (I live on it year round). They aren't the same people either, it just seems like the sport is growing at a rapid rate.

The potential for an Ultimate Fighting Championship event to draw undesirable gangsters to downtown Vancouver is real, say police.

"It's a fact," said Sgt. Bill Whalen, spokesman for the combined forces special enforcement unit. "We've seen that UFC events attract some ... gang or organized crime members. It's popular with them."

The Suits from the UFC were recently in town to try to get the UFC regulated in Vancouver. Once again, Dana White said the UFC will be coming to GM Place in June.

Based on one of the local newspapers, public reaction seems to be mixed. Some people think the UFC is nothing but bar brawlers while other folks believe it's a real sport and it should come here.

It appears GSP will be back in Feb to defend his belt so I'm hoping he will fight in June. Dana White was asked on MMA Connected if it was important to have Canadian fighters on this card and said it would be good but the crowd would respond to top guys even if they weren't Canadian. I think a lot of local fans are going to be disappointed if GSP doesn't fight in his Country.

Can't wait. 100% definitely going to catch the on at the Rogers Center. Knowing the prices for concerts/sports in Toronto, means I should start saving up now.

How many seats in the ACC?

SkyDome seems too big - I don't mean people-wise, but like the outfield and infield are so big you wouldn't be able to see anything down there if you weren't at the front, and sitting in the home-run seats or 2oo's might be too far away. and LOL at 500 level seating at the far end!
Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.
