Re: Silva to Heavyweight instead of Light Heavyweight?
LMAO I read about this yesterday.
I don't want to see this, yet. Go to light heavy Spider.
Also, give Hendo one more fight -
Re: Silva to Heavyweight instead of Light Heavyweight?
I've thought about Silva at HW before, but I only want to see it if he either gives up the MW title or signs for another three fights or so in addition to the three he's got left. Hendo deserves a rematch, the Maia/Marquardt winner deserves a shot, and Yushin Okami could be due a shot after another win.
I get a kick out of Silva's management saying that Hendo and the winner of Maia/Marquardt should have to fight to determine who gets a title shot, because none of those guys deserve one yet. Silva got a title shot after one single fight, against Chris freaking Leben no less. And he's expecting Demian Maia to have to go 7-0 in the UFC, including wins over Hendo, Marquardt, Sonnen, and Quarry, all of which are better fighters than Leben, before he's worthy of a title shot. Insanity.Comment

Re: Silva to Heavyweight instead of Light Heavyweight?
Would silva seriously have a shot at beating Brock? I just think the weight difference would make a huge difference in a fight..Comment

Re: Silva to Heavyweight instead of Light Heavyweight?
Yeah, I consider Silva the P4P best in the world, but Brock is too big. I assume Lesnar would smash him.Comment

Im really not that interested in seeing him at HW and I really wonder if he isnt getting a little over confident with his own abilities. I dont see anyway he can beat Lesnar due to the huge difference in weight and I honestly question who of the top HW's he can beat.Comment

Re: Silva to Heavyweight instead of Light Heavyweight?
It kind of cracks me up when people say that Hendo could have won that fight. I think people are so used to seeing Silva damn near not get hit in fights that they take a guy winning a round for more than what it is. Silva got caught with his back straight, but Hendo did no damage to Silva whatsoever in that fight. He calmly shrugged off hammer fists and kept Hendo from doing any significant GnP after winning the stand up striking game. In the next round, he continued to dominate Hendo standing, and then beat him on the ground.
Hendo wasn't as horrible as Silva's other opponents, but Silva still RNC'd him without taking any real damage, and he was winning the stand up game. Not saying it's impossible for Hendo to win, but all of this "he almost had it stuff" is crazy.
Re: Silva to Heavyweight...that'd be a bad move. He loses his reach advantage and would have much bigger guys laying on top of him for a long time. On the other hand, he wore that extra twenty pounds very naturally in the Forrest fight, and his speed/striking advantage would be outrageous.Comment

Re: Silva to Heavyweight instead of Light Heavyweight?
Yeah - I really don't think Henderson did all the great in fight #1... Better than most, but still nothing great.
I also see no reason for him to bother fighting Henderson or anyone else at Middleweight. There clearly isn't any challenge for him there, and I honestly don't see Henderson doing anything in a second fight either. The way he just man handled Forrest really showed me that when he bothers trying, it's just not even fair.
I'd prefer LHW for him, but I actually think HW would be interesting. I'd like to see a fighter like him try to take on some of those huge guys.Comment
