Roy is a top notch BJJ fighter. He's beaten Frank Mir in a grappling match, which shows that he's got a superb ground game.

No, I'm one of those guys who can recognize which guy is actually the crappy fighter.

Some of you guys are letting your love for Kimbo get in the way of basic judgement, no offense. Personally, I didn't have a dog in this fight. In fact, I probably like Kimbo more than Roy.

But I like MMA more than I like either of those guys, and as an MMA fan, it was easy to tell that it was Kimbo who didn't bring it and it was easy to tell that it was Kimbo who made this fight so lackluster.

Edit: And I agree, Roy shouldn't have been acting as cocky as he was, but that doesn't change anything about the fight.

While kimbo is crappy because he is a beginner, roy nelson who is suppose to be a former champion looked crappy as well.Overall it was a crappy fight but you can't blame that on the guy who wants to stand and bang.

I tend to usually agree with Dana, and Dana is right. Roy did as much as he could to win, and not get hit. He won't win the Ultimate Fighter. I doubt Kimbo will either, but I bet he gets another chance.

I think that at least Kimbo is hungry, listening, and working hard to get better. He proves that he has a passion for this sport.

John Candy's lay and pray strategy worked against Kimbo. With that belly on him, Kimbo had no chance.

Frankly, that fight was horrible. This whole season has been horrible. So we have already seen a former Champ, a street fighting legend, and a guy that has spent 1 year training with Evans stinks it up.

I read an article that said Kimbo is training for a UFC fight in Decemeber. I guess he either comes back this season and wins the TUF or will be fighting on the finale night card. Kimbo Slice isn't a good MMA fighter but he attracts interest. It looks like Dana is milking him and I can't blame him. It's a good business decision.

From my understanding on Dana White, he doesnt care if you win or lose as long as you bring an exciting fight.

Nelson didn't deliver. Sure he had a dominating position on someone who has no ground game what so ever but when he had that dominating position he decided to pet him. Boring and I doubt Nelson will win TUF.

Also, Kimbo will be back. Thats a fact. It will be either in TUF or just regular ufc.

Yeah, I agree with Dana, when he kept punching him, I was thinking, "he's not even hitting him that hard". I understand why the fight was stopped, but he didn't do that much damage.

Hell Roy didn't do any damage at all. All he did was lay that huge belly on him and tap him on the head a dozen times. Did no damage at all. You seen Kimbo after that fight ???? Didn't have a mark on him at all.

I hate fighters who barely do enough to get by. I would have been more impressed if he slapped a kimura or arm bar on Kimbo.

Yeah, that fight was disappointing. Roy won technically, but he didn't hurt Kimbo at all...those punches were so weak. Not gonna take the win away from him, but don't think he's all that great either...anyone with some sort of ground defense is gonna kill him.

I'm guessing this will be the last season of TUF in a long, long time that will feature heavyweights. Perhaps even ever, depending on how long the series goes. It's just been dreadful so far.

I was just going to chime in on some of the comments made here.. sure Kimbo is trash, but is Roy honestly that much better?

Dana to this point in the show must have been extremely disgusted.

Good thing for him, a month or so later the ratings are great.

Still though the show has been a waste of an hour for me. Still waiting for a legit looking heavyweight.

Like Jeff Monson? He's won a gold, silver, and bronze in the heavyweight division at Abu Dhabi, one of the most prestigious grappling tournaments in the world. Nelson lost a decision to him in a fight that many people thought Nelson won.

Roy was also giving Arlovski real trouble on the ground, and Arlovski's an accomplished sambo fighter.

Roy's a legit black belt, and it takes a lot more than 'some sort of ground defense' to nullify that.

He didn't show a lot of that black belt off against Kimbo, but that's because Roy didn't need a black belt to out-grapple Kimbo.

Honestly, yes. Kimbo's maybe got an advantage on the feet, but Nelson has about 50x that advantage on the ground.

This fight sucked because of the styles involved. Kimbo wants to stand and trade. Roy's a great grappler. Kimbo has less than zero grappling defense. We saw what happened.

This is a fight that Joe Silva, the UFC's match maker, would never have put together. But on TUF, where the coaches are rightfully more concerned with winning than with entertainment, we're not so fortunate.

When Kimbo gets io the UFC, it'll be against mediocre guys that want to strike. When Roy gets in the UFC, it'll be against decent guys who have some idea of how to defend themselves on the ground. Both Roy and Kimbo will look better as a result.

He completely dominated the fight. He easily got into the most dominate position in the sport.

It wasn't pretty, but a wins a win. Kudos to Nelson on the victory.

Didn't Kimbo look different to anyone? It was like he was scared to get Knocked Out. He is usually more aggressive. Maybe Petruzelli's KO of him left more of a emotional scar then previously thought?
