I posted this earlier and had it deleted - but an SI writer said on his twitter account that the twitter account was fake, as was Fedor's. So really who knows right now. I figured it wasn't worth saying until someone trustworthy says something.

    here: http://twitter.com/SI_JoshGross

he says he asked Millen is Vadim had a twitter account and just got laughed at; also said he got a phone calling saying it was fake from the guy... So with that, it's probably nothing worth reporting until someone with real information says something.

Yeah, gotta love Twitter. I hope it's somewhat true though.

Let's get it done M-1, you rat bastards

UFC and M-1 reopen talks; White hopeful for Emelianenko and Mousasi in the UFC (Updated)

by Dann Stupp on Jan 04, 2010 at 12:00 pm ET
imageApparently, the Ultimate Fighting Championship's door hasn't completely closed on notables Fedor Emelianenko and Gegard Mousasi.

Although the M-1 fighters are signed in the U.S. to Strikeforce and past negotiations with the UFC fell apart, UFC president Dana White said he recently reopened talks with M-1 Global boss Vadim Finkelstein.

White wouldn't elaborate on the nature of the discussions and said only they've taken place "more recently than you would think."

Finkelstein's recent Twitter message came a day after White confirmed the renewed talks.

White's update, which raised more than a few eyebrows, followed a simple question asking if Mousasi, the former DREAM middleweight champ and current Strikeforce light-heavyweight title-holder, would never be a UFC fighter.

"I wouldn't say he never would be," White said on Saturday. "It's not that I don't want to talk to M-1. I want to get this [expletive] done. I want him, and I want Fedor. I want to do it. And I never say never. They can call me right now, and we can start talking and figure this thing out. I'd love to get Mousasi in here. He should be. He deserves to be.

"I like [Mousasi] a lot. I'd love to get him in here and try him out with some of the other guys."

When pressed for details, White declined to elaborate but confirmed the talks have taken place recently.

While certainly good news for THE UFC fans who want the top fighters under the company's umbrella, it's certain to cause concern for Strikefore and broadcast partners Showtime and CBS, who have relied (and will continue to rely) heavily on the two stars. Both are expected to figure prominently into Strikeforce's 2010 plans with Emelianenko likely to contend for the organization's heavyweight belt and Mousasi expected to defend his title, which he recently took from Renato "Babalu" Sobral.

Emelianenko, the longtime PRIDE champion, recently competed for Affliction Entertainment, where he defeated ex-UFC champs Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski. After its promotional demise, Emelianenko and the UFC entered talks that soon sparked a war of words in the media. White said the fighter's demands (which included the caveat that Emelianenko's UFC fights must be co-promoted by M-1 Global) were outlandish, but he said he was willing to pay big for the fighter. (Finkelstein, though, later denied reports that the UFC had offered a contract worth $30 million.) However, the co-promoting demands eventually halted the negotiations.

The talks temporary broke down in July, and Emelianenko signed with Strikeforce the next month. The promotion then announced a network-TV deal with CBS, and Emelianenko headlined the first show with a knockout victory over Brett Rogers in November.

Emelianenko (31-1) and Mousasi (28-2-1) are both expected to fight again for Strikeforce in the spring.

Aye - I hope it's true, too. Although, I've little hope if it is, to be honest. I just have a feeling it'll never come to anything good, these talks.

How funny would it be if the UFC signs Fedor, only to lose Lesnar?

Pretty much what I was thinking when I saw the topic title. I'm much more intrested in them getting Mousassi either way.

Yeah - looking at that article, and the first source it lists (Vadim's fake twitter page) I'd say this is nothing to get any hopes over. Go look at that twitter page while it's still up and get a decent laugh.

That's some poor reporting right there.

Re: Fedor’s Manager Negotiating With UFC

I hate these stupid *** M-1 idiots with a passion. I love how they are trying to put down the UFC PPV buys, to the point where he is even questioning whether or not the numbers reported are real, yet Strikeforce has to give their events away for free on CBS because they know damn well they couldnt do anything with a PPV right now if they had to. I personally hope Fedor keeps his *** in Strikeforce and either retires after getting bored or gets destroyed by someone eventually, hes a great fighter but Im just done with this entire debacle. I would love to see Gegard come over however, Fedor I couldnt care less about right now.

EDIT- Come on, the guy says the following...

"Dana is grabbing at straws. He wants Fedor so bad he can taste it. ... But as long as M-1 is involved, I'm sure it's always going to be co-promotion. Fedor has been a part of the family. You don't just give your family away. Gegard is an M-1 fighter, as well, and he's right there with Fedor."

Really? Lesnar may be down right now and that could stretch into his entire career being over but the HW cupboard isnt as bare as it was back when it was basically Tim Sylvia vs Andrei Arlovski every PPV. Im sure Dana would love to have Fedor but I also think its because he wants one of his fighters to be the first to destroy him, Fedor isnt a big enough draw so that isnt it, I personally think its his ego of wanting to destroy the legacy of Fedor at this point. I could be wrong but it just seems like a perfect ending for Dana.

^I think Dana wants him wrapped up for if and when Brock gets back. I think he wants Brock to eat him alive in the cage.

(Which I think he is perfectly capable of, dude is a beast among men)

So this is where the banned people from sherdog go. Some of you have way to much love for Dana the guy shows how much of an *** he is day in and day out. This is why people are turning on the ufc.

Yeah, because so many are turning on him. Nice assumption about Sherdog, maybe you should go back there where you can make asinine comments without providing any proof, kinda like your most recent post in here. So, the idiots over at M-1 say something and you not only buy into it but then you generalize that everyone is turning on Dana? Is that your proof? Get outta here with that garbage.
