IMO, only a Page fan would call that a bad or boring fight. What did you want Rashad to stand right in front of Page and throw the entire fight? Hell, even the most casual MMA fan knows that would have been a horrible game-plan.

Shad's strategy was to pick his shots standing and to shoot when he had the chance. Once he had him against the cage or on the ground his game-plan was to wear him down one way or another. He did that to perfection. That wasn't a boring moment the entire fight and it definitely wasn't a bad fight at all, IMO.

I'm not a fan of either, and I must say that was a boring fight. I'm not saying what 'Shad should have done. Obviously what he did worked. I'm simply saying it was boring, minus one punch from 'Shad and a series of punches that almost ended the fight from 'Page. The fight was boring. It was like a broken record: Dance, dance, dance, lunge, punch, step back, dance, dance, grapple, tie up against cage for a minute or two, killing time.....repeat. 'Shad was the equivalent of a QB taking a knee for most of the fight after he rocked Rampage on one punch. Minus that one punch, he scored a couple key takedowns, then killed the clock. I've never seen someone win a Unanimous decision and do less to win, honestly. Even with the couple or few takedowns 'Shad had, Rampage made it back up within 30sec to a minute. Again, I really don't like either fighter, so it has nothing to do with being a Rampage fan. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Rampage deserved to win the fight, he didn't. It was just that uneventful, especially for two guys that are known to bring it.

I guess you missed the first 10 seconds of the fight. Thats the hardest I've seen Page get hit since he joined the UFC.

Please, thats gotta be a joke. He hit him with a straight, he just happened to hit him right on the chin perfectly. I would venture that he ate bigger punches from Wanderlei and Chuck when he fought them. It cant be said enough, Rampage was out of the UFC for 14 months and it showed in some ways tonight.

I get that your an Evans fan but your bordering on lunacy now.

Shad did his thing. He had too much speed and dictated the pace of the fight.

Looking at the replay, didn't seem like Rampage's flurry was that great. He missed on quite a few punches once Evans was on the ground.

Yeah I saw that, once Evans was down he really missed on a lot of his shots. He did enough damage that Evans was clearly still wobbling around once they were stood up but apparently Rampage didnt want to push the action for some reason.

For what? What were you waiting on? The cage to split b/c they were leaning against it so much? Or for Herb Dean to tell them to break up?

It wasn't like Shad was just holding against the cage and doing nothing the entire time. He tried to take him down, threw punches/knees etc. Page even attempted a couple of shots from the clinch but couldn't land anything although he came extremely close to landing a couple of shots. What I'm saying is just because their against the fence doesn't mean they weren't staying busy because they were. Their skills canceled each other out so Herb had to separate them eventually and I thought Herb did a great job at separating them when he did.

I don't see how anybody can argue that the fight was good. It was a good strategy by Rashad, since it won. But as far as entertainment value goes, that fight was a snoozer.

Anyways, I enjoyed the fight but, theres probably plenty of things I enjoy that others don't. Not a big deal. Different strokes for different folks is all I can say.

I enjoy a technical fight, one focused on technique rather than flashy KO's. This one however, was not that entertaining to me. It's rare that I say that about a fight involving either of these fighters. I think they're both too dangerous, so they were a bit timid.
