Dravinski: "That's a huge advent to the series. We're doing away with the arch types of just saying some guy is a boxer/wrestler. This is going to enable us to bring a much more realistic representation of each fighter. Last year we needed to makes some tough calls on guys. They might have been really skilled in BJJ, but we couldn't see them doing the rubber guard, so we called them a wrestler. So this year, being able to pick specific moves for fighters, moves that they're known for, really helps clean a lot of that up. Now BJ Penn will do his arm trap into a rear naked choke. We even got moves like "The Salaverry" in the game this year."

UFC Undisputed 2010 Interview (ESPN)
ESPN's Jon Robinson goes one-on-one with producer Neven Dravinski to get the early details on UFC Undisputed 2010.
Jon: "One of the coolest features I've seen from "UFC Undisputed 2010" is the addition of signature moves and submissions tied to the superstar fighters. How is that going to work?"
Dravinski: "That's a huge advent to the series. We're doing away with the arch types of just saying some guy is a boxer/wrestler. Re: UFC Undisputed 2010 Interview (ESPN)
It all sounds awesome!
my only minor negative thoughts are why did he have to stress making it faster? There was nothing wrong with the gameplay speed...making it faster could turn me off a bit.
The 'shine'...ugh...I wish at least they would give me the option to button mash instead. The shine is damaging to controllers and not everyone can shine that fast either. They should cap it at a reasonable rate so that you know you're fighter is at 100% effort trying to get out without having to be the fastest shiner. so let;s say 2 rotations a second (just throwing out a number) maxes it out...so doing 2.5 or 3 doesn't make it better. That allows the attributes to take center stage more imo.
Like all companies...they get really excited talking about 'online'...I want the career/franchise etc...to be as deep or deeper than road to the show or power pros careers. Please make it ridiculous so that every single player fan will be forced to shut up (me included)Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

if I had to guess they'll go with pretty much the same 2x accelerated clock. This was only really an issue for people that liked to posture and position exclusively on the ground.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Still waiting on some news about leg kicks, checking them, damage inflicted, etc. They gotta be implemented better in UD10...its a must.Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

After hearing everything else they implemented I think this is a lock to be in the game. It was one of the biggest complaints if not THE biggest and it's obvious they are cognizant of the community complaints.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: UFC Undisputed 2010 Interview (ESPN)
The biggest complaint for me honestly was the "Step based attack system".
Reason being is this. You never had people moving in and out at a realistic pace. You never have people stand and exchange . It all boils down to who can time their step attacks correctly. It annoyed the living hell out of me when all you see is step attacks and the worst part is they are extremely effective because of the speed they are unleashed at.
Here is my complaint list. From Most/least.
1) Step attacks being used to often. Too fast, and not enough stamina drain.
2) Throwing punches over and over using little stamina, but body blows take off HUGE amounts. This resulted in the body spam
3) Reverse/ground game to easy and not rating based enough
4) No cage work, this getting in this year is HUGE!!
5) Leg kicks not causing any damage. If they do it really does nothing.
6) Lack of signature moves for most fighters
7) Poor career mode
8) To easy to beat CPU
9) SLLLLLOOOWWW Menu
10) No online league options.Comment

Re: UFC Undisputed 2010 Interview (ESPN)
As fun as the game was/is (can be), it has so many huge issues that need to be fixed up. At this point I'm just glad with a handful being taken care of for now, and I hope they keep fixing up a good chunk with each release.
The lunging attacks really suck for sure. most online games go one of two ways. People stand outside and circle around lunging in over and over or they walk in and just spam body and mix in head shots to keep you stunned for a bit. I generally lunge myself, and I don't really enjoy it - but a regular striking method where you stand in range and block and trade shots simply doesn't work in this game at all. It's either lunge or body spam or get beat down.Comment

Re: UFC Undisputed 2010 Interview (ESPN)
That shine crap is going make people controllers wear out 5 times faster then it normally would. Hopefully they tied it into the person's actually sub defense rating vs a person's sub offense rating.
Because last year it was funny to see Kongo sub Nog with ease in the game. And leg kicks MUST mean something. Over all I hope it is literally dozens of sub moves in the game.
Last year it was a big WTF moment when I seen the heel hook or the darce wasn't in the game. I need variety damn it. I must have seen the triangle a million times last year. That and the kimura had to be the most used sub moves in the game.
But then again........they only had 6 sub moves in the game last year. Let me think.........
!. Kimura
2. Triangle
3. Gullotine
4. Arm bar
5. Knee bar
6. Rear naked choke.
7. North South Choke
Ok so it was 7. Way too low considering if you watched Nog in Pride, he attempts 10 different subs per a fight.Comment
