And the 10 minute first rounds are insane! Imagine if you get taken down in the opening second, your on your back for 10 minutes. The training for that must have been crazy.

It's good that spike is now showing these. I watched most of the fights when they originally aired. PRIDE was the king of MMA and had almost all the supreme fighters in their ultimate prime.

The UFC didnt EA em. Pride did a poor job of managing its money. The UFC became a more viable option for US fighters who wanted to make decent money and stay in the states. Pride would have had to file for bankruptcy if they didnt sell to the UFC.

yea i love watching this, Bas doing the commentating is great. This is actually where i started watching MMA. I forget which channel it was, maybe MSG or something that would always show replays of old Pride fights and i'd always watch them.

Pride was King. Sakaraba vs Gracie clan wars lasted for decades and about a full decade in Pride alone.

For those who don't know the Gracies other then Royce, OMG you don't know what awesomeness you missed in Pride. Royce was the worse fighter of all the Gracies actually. His brothers, cousin and nephew were 10 times better then him. Too bad his nephew died 2 years into his career, he was a beast.
