Impressions & things to test for in the DEMO & report on

Ok for those that get the demo tomorrow, because I highly doubt they give the demo out to EVERYBODY that is a member of that website. Test the following things in the demo and report back to let everybody know what the deal is with this game. That way we won't have a 100 threads asking the same question.

    1. Leg kicks.....test them out and see how many leg kicks it takes to cause damage and if it really effects the fighter's movement and strategy.

    2. Submissions, count how many NEW submissions YOU were able to pull off or see. Because I remember last year the press release bragged about all these submissions that were in the game and majority of them never made the final cut for the full version of the game or public demo version of the game.

    3. Knock outs and knock downs. Report on how easy it is to knock somebody down in the game. Video yesterday it kind of look like it was way too easy to knock somebody down on the game and KO's came quick as well.

    4. Cage use. Is it done very good ? Does it prevent BJJ guys from doing moves if they are stuffed up against the cage ?

    good initial list.

I would like to add this....JABS....On any setting, the CPU doesnt block jabs if at all.....You can pepper their mugs like there was no tomorrow.

Differance in fighters....Like that we have a larger selection in the DEMO to showcase the individual 'new' fighting styles. I want to see if the differance really shows between fighters.

I am going to test out transition blocks and reversals. I want to see if you will be able to spam transition blocks and effectively shut down your opponent. This is the one thing im worried about because it killed the online for me.

I thought i heard THQ say you can finish from any position, but when i watched the 'On the Spot' video on Gamespot they had a demo with some of the devs and they made it sound like you can finish from any top position. So unless someone can assure me that you can finish from absolutely any position, this is the biggest thing im looking to test.

Everyone on the site is getting a demo. They stated they have 20x the amount of codes than registered members there.

The demo fighters don't really lend themselves to properly figure out submissions if things are as they should be. I guess you could toss it on 2 players and try to find new ones.

I'll check at midnight, I'm guess when the website goes back up, the codes will be ready to collect in the rewards section (prob why site is down for maintainance). So if when I go to be the site is still down, I'll expect the codes sometime tomorrow 10AM-1230PM EST. - that's just my guess...but I really hope the Demo completely RUINS my "sleep" tonight. If it comes out tonight, tomorrow people might look at me and wonder what's wrong with me lol..."why is your face so pale?" .. "are those black eyes?" lol

I am off tomorrow so it is all good. I do hope for midnight though for I can get in a solid 3 hours before I crash in bed.

                    If you go to http://www.ufcundisputed.com/#/fighters
they of course have all the fighters listed, but you can also check out the fighter model. I've just looked through a few welterweights, but so far they have done a fantastic job of modeling the fighters. They also list each fighters fight styles.

Just something to tide over the anxious.

Edit: They don't have all the fighters listed... but quite a few.

Wierd thing is they have an animated model for all the fighters except the fighter who is considered #1 in their respective weight class (GSP, Brock, Machida, Silva, Penn).

Re: Impressions & things to test for in the DEMO & report on

I want to test how effective leg kicks are (like mentioned in the original post). If you continually pelt someone with leg kicks, they better slow down, and they better have like bruises.

The takedown animation looks vastly improved and way more realistic, so I'm very happy with that. It was extremely cheesy to see the takedown defense in 09.

I'm also hoping though that fighters aren't restricted to their arsenal. For example, last year, I thought BJJ was by far the best grappling background, because you could fight off of your back. It sucked to be fighting with say GSP because you could easily get taken down, and it didn't reflect the fact that GSP is also a high quality BJJ grappler. Since GSP's background was Kickboxing and Wrestling, it sucked if you ended up on your back with him, while in real life, GSP isn't a fish out of water on his back (and it would be much harder to take down a wrestler).

I also hope there's "levels" of jiu jitsu. Using BJ Penn or Demian Maia should mean that your ground game is much more tighter then say using Mark Bocek or someone like that. It felt like to me, it didn't matter who you really used, because everyone could sorta do the same thing.

thanks man...that must be new...glad they're doing that again this year only they did it with WAAAY more people this year. And they improved big time. Mat Serra looks way better for example...I've just seen a few, now I'm going to kill some time looking at all of them.

That was one of the things the developers talked about not all BJJ fighers will have all the BJJ moves. BJ Penn for example will have a special move (arm trap) that isn't available to other BJJ practitioners. ie not all BJJ/Muai Tai/Wrestling etc practitioners are created equal in terms of the moves they can perform, unlike last year.

To your other point, Fighters aren't completely hemmed into their fighting style classification. For example, a fighter whose fighting styles are boxing and judo may still be able to deliver head kicks if that is part of their arsenal in real life.

Do tell me......why does Rashad Evans have a front kick in the game ??? He is a wrestler and boxer. The only kick he throws in real life is head kicks.

                              Penn isn't #1 anymore.

Though that reminds me,test out the judging in the demo. Last years was...
