I also do not understand why there aren't any sliders in the game. Sports games do have them for years now and it became more of a convenience to have them in your game. We are sports fanatics here on the forum...seriously think about it, when was the last time you liked a sportsgame out of the box? Where you did not feel tempted to change/adjust sliders at all? This game needs sliders and it needs them badly!

UFC 2010 needs sliders
After playing the demo for quite a long time and reading through a whole bunch of commets about the demo it becomes evident that the series is in humble need of sliders. If you look at the top 5-10 complaints about the dem and last years game, most of them stem from the absence of sliders. Flash KO frequency, submission difficulty, takedown difficulty...etc. These are all things which could easily be adjusted by sliders.

Re: UFC 2010 needs sliders
Sliders are never bad. But I am happy enough with the demo I don't need them. My last 4 fights on expert went to the decision. But that is me using house rules and fighting realistic. If I game it I can win on expert now almost every time. I can KO the cpu either from the ground or standing on expert to easy if I try. Mixing up your strikes is key. -
Re: UFC 2010 needs sliders
I'd love sliders.. even if they were really basic (fatigue rate, damage rate, etc.)
I also hope that the quality of fighters in the demo is masking difficulty. I don't understand why developers cap difficulty level at something reasonable. Expert plays tough occasionally (subs are tough) but it wouldn't be hard to arbitrarily increase the CPU counter-grapple rate or block rate in order to hike up difficulty significantly (think like speed cheat on all-madden).
When is the last time anyone complained because the last tier of a game with multiple difficulty settings was too hard? Sliders would be a way of addressing this conundrum just as they are in other sports genres.Comment

Re: UFC 2010 needs sliders
sliders should be standard in ALL sports games....Should be a requirement actually.
Pleased with the DEMO, but only had limited time with it as my buddy got it early. Still VERY excited about the Final Build regardless of some of the issues in the DEMO.
What i will say is that on any setting the CPU is quite predictable after a few fights and its aggressive pace opens alot of opportunities for counter KOs...Having the ability to "WEAVE" away from punches is a great addition, but, at least from the demo, when successful leads to a knockdown or KO 90% of the time. This was a concern with the demo that really showed up after getting used to the game itself and the controls after about A DOZEN FIGHTS.Comment

Re: UFC 2010 needs sliders
If you take your time, this game is pretty fine out of the box. If you play punch happy as though this was Fight Night then yeah you will get KO'ed pretty fast. All being said this is a demo after all.
full version rarely plays exactly like the demo anyway, a lot of stuff is cut out of the demo to save space and make the file size smaller. It was the same for NBA 2k10 demo, MLB 2k10 demo, Fifia 10 demo, Fight Night demo, Splinter Cell demo or even the UFC 09 demo.Comment

Sliders are the only logical solution to keep everybody happy. When you get really good at this game though - it's difficult to get knocked out, it still happens - I think the KOs come down to skill level imo. Last year I played mostly against my brother and we both got pretty damn good at it - post patch 95% of our fights ended in decisions which just sucked so we stopped playing.Last edited by wyrm187; 05-04-2010, 11:08 AM.Comment

Re: UFC 2010 needs sliders
Yeah ain't that the truth. If YOU be aggressive your guy would get tired very fast. However it takes the CPU a while to get tired. I have noticed if you make the CPU miss a few times, they will get tired fast. Which reminds me how FNR4 is. If you don't connect you will get tired QUICK.Comment

Re: UFC 2010 needs sliders
Im with you Phobia - Im not getting near the amount of KOs I was getting as Ive paced myself and fought more sim myself . .. .but I cosign the OPs idea because the last thing I want is for them to nerf the game like they did in last year's patch because of other people's whining there are too many kos or that the game is broken or not sim or whatever - cause post patch last year killed the game for me last year.

Its simple, some of the flash KO's should be a Rocked moment(grey moment) or a knockdown which would result in a Rocked moment(grey moment) after a couple shots to the face...
last year, they F'd it up becuz people were complaining about the KO rate which wasnt the problem....The problem is what I just said above...
The patch last year reduced the flash ko's and the rocked moments, its like they reduced the damage of strikes instead of fixing the Flash KO/Rocked ratio...
See how most of these guys are getting ROCKED first and then TKO's???
Heh, even in one clip, a guy gets rocked then gets KO'd why still standing....Havent seen that yet in the Demo nor 2009..Its all dramatic...Yea its nitpicking but we have threads about color cleats plus THQ's pitch is "As Real As It Gets"

IMO, its more satisfying to finish a fight than to see KO of the year in every other match...

Ive watched a ton of fights and I agree with you on the complete lights out KOs being overdone and they should be more like the screen grayed out - tko stoppages.
However - I am not experieincing a ton of these anymore as Ive tried to explain - I think the balance of TKOs and decisions and KOs is fine once I learned how to adapt. I think they will always be skewed when fighting the AI cause lets face it - the AI is a problem in every game Ive ever played. Against human opponents we have had a nice mix of KOs, TKOs and decisions like I said in my previous post somewhere - that's all I care about which is why they should put sliders in because me & you are playing the game differently.
Im fighting 3 round fights for now so it may be a problem in full 5 round fights - I understand where your coming from but until they can represent the TKOs a bit better Im fine where its at now. I hate the animation - I think it looks lame, they could do better with it. (I dont mind the TKO from the top mount though - when the camera angle switches its kinda cool)Last edited by wyrm187; 05-04-2010, 03:32 PM.Comment

Re: UFC 2010 needs sliders
I have not had a problem with grey screened ko's. I like them alot this year. I grey screen guys but if I cant finish the fight quick enough they recover. I love that. I have also had both fighters grey screen within the first minute of round 1. In fact when me and my friend fight we make sure not to jump on a grey screened guy we just stand and bang until a KO. I see as many grey screens as I do outright KO's. This is with the stand up not ground game.Comment
