Re: Top 3 scariest men in MMA
There's something up with that Lesnar/Carwin picture. Carwin looks bigger than Brock and I know that is absolutely false. Also, it seems like there's a lot of talk about fist sizes, but that fist is after a fight and after a couple hours of being taped, battered, and bruised.
As for scariest men in MMA:
-Brock. He's big and the best wrestler in the heavyweight division.
-Wanderlei. He's one of the foxhole guys. A guy you want with you in battle.
-Fedor. Russians are scary.Proud Supporter Of...The Iowa HawkeyesThe Chicago BlackhawksThe New York YankeesThe Chicago CubsThe Chicago BullsMachester United FCComment

Re: Top 3 scariest men in MMA
Fedor
Wand
Ubereem
Lesnar
These quotes are from Mind Games: Psychological Warfare in MMA, an article in issue 56 of Fighters Only magazine.
The psychologist quoted is Joe Bell:
"The best when it comes to the staredown is Fedor Emelianenko. Watch him: he does not make eye contact and his entire expression is extremely relaxed - you would think he is about to sit down for dinner or something."
"But here is the crucial thing. When the referee tells them to head back to their corners, Fedor suddenly darts a short look directly at his opponent - or through his opponent, I should say."
"This kind of look is associated with antisocial behavioural disorders and psychopaths. They don't look at you, they look through you. It's emotionless, it goes deeper than skin level."
"You will get a lot of fighters who will catch that look and suddenly realise they don't want to be there."
"Wanderlei Silva has a stare-down that makes you think 'this is gonna hurt', but Fedor's makes you think '**** I might die'."
Fedor doesn't put a lot of effort into his staredowns. But I'd imagine the combination of his aura and lack of expression and blank stare makes facing him pretty unnerving despite his pudgy exterior.Last edited by Titus001; 06-22-2010, 11:10 PM.GO BUCKS!Comment

great photo.
Fedor's is great because it's so cold AND it's effortless. The guys who try to look mean are putting effort into it and as an opponent I'd be thinking they're trying to prove something to themselves to overcome their fear or something.
Diego Sanchez comes to mind. I'd be tempted to say "beetch, please." Either you look tough or you don't, trying to convince someone you are with a mean face is a sign of weakness imo. Actually putting effort into a staredown is ridiculous to me, even though it can be entertaining (funny) see diego again.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Top 3 scariest men in MMA
1. Wanderlei Silva
That was an entertaining fight, btw.
2. Don Frye (go to the 1:22 mark)
His across the ring glare is even better.
3. Probably Lesnar just because of his size.Comment

Re: Top 3 scariest men in MMA
Brock is not even in the top 10 scariest. When I read "scariest dudes in MMA" I think of guys who can/might try to kill me inside or outside of the cage. Gilbert is obviously in the top 3, if beating up a ref during a fight doesn't do the trick ?I don't know what does.
Just for clarification it's only Nick and Nate, they don't have any other siblings. Although if you ask 'Mayhem' he'll tell you that Nick and Nate have quite a few bros.
Also I would like to posthumously nominate Ryan Gracie (R.I.Piss). Karma is a b.... right? And if you don't know why hit the Wikipedia library.
As far as appearance, hands down Jeff Monson.Comment
