I have zero problem doing reversals and preventing them to the most they can be prevented. That is not my beef. It is the simple fact that if you are good enough with the system. The worst ground fighter in UFC history can become a BJJ master. That completely goes against having stats in the game for other things. If stats mean nothing on the ground for reversals why have them for anything else.

Yea I did not even think about the damn 3 transitions you are out. I have not seen a 3 transition out in so long. 90% of ground matchs have a reversal before one of the fighters makes it to 3 transitions. Another STUPID addition



Yea Matt, you know i understand the ground game completely. Faking transitions, delayed transitions, etc. I am not a rapid flick reverser. I reverse only by a single well timed flick. I find it way more successful than rapid flickers. Cause like you said, you can see when they flick and transition between flicks.

Like I said above. It is not the reversals that are the problem to me. I think in 09 it was good, not great but good. It was still based to much on user skill rather than factoring in the fighters ability. My big issue with the system is how it is based ZERO off of stats. I would not mind at all if I saw Frank Mir reverse me, I expect it actually on the ground. But when you take Kimbo Slice vs Mir and you can reverse a noob at will. It just throws the whole realism, stat rating system out the window.

well actually with the delayed transitions, you lock them out once the start flicking. thats why it works. but if you havent started a transition the the lockouttimer restarts immediately,(read broken) i agree with you it should be stats based too like tied in with ground grapple stats. but on the same token some scrub guys should be able to reverse just to balance the game. because the reversal is more taking advantage of sloppy transitioning. but your reversal window should be smaller with a guy like kimbo, and larger with a guy like maia.

No fix for the ridiculous flash ko rate? I'm so glad I sold this game two days after I got it. I knew that problem wouldn't make it into a patch in any timely manner. Have fun waiting another couple or few months for the flash KO problem to be fixed, if ever.

Only reason im holding on is b/c of online play. Playing w/ Phobia made me see this game can be fun if playing against the right people. Even w/ the KO BS and broken ground game. I still take people to the ground, but just try to be smart when doing it.

They break the game.

Basically I could have the worst guy on the ground say KIMBO SLICE for example. You could have Big Nog or Frank Mir. You could have top control and I could reverse you and take top control basically when ever I want. It is based ZERO on stats and just purely timing. Now with the auto transiton block, everyone just spams reversals and it becomes comical. Watching a horrible ground fighter such as Kimbo reverse world class BJJ guys at will is insane stupid

Stupidest thing in the game, even beats out the horrible stamina.

But they took out sweeps...so without reversals all I can do is try to stop transitions (3) or try to kick you off me (drain my stamina)

Last year I could learn judo and attempt sweeps from guard and BJJ had rubber guard to back-side control sweep as well as another one to full mount I believe.

Since I can't sweep from guard, I need reversals, especially online where every single guy I face had just go for takedowns, and when I get down I don't want to blow all my energy.


The whole thing just needs a re-think. I think not being able to block submissions is one of the dumbest things in the game. Why do you get to put me in a kimura 6 times in a row?

Same way here. Not bashing the game, but this year it is not my cup of tea. I suppose I should trade it in while it has some kind of value..

Just going to have to wait on next year and hear some reviews first, before I purchase it.

LMAO God they screwed the patch up even. Instead of making AI sub off/def a little bit less perfect, apparently it is harder.

Roster ratings also reverted back to release day rosters. Camps and tournaments online are still having problems.

They didn't touch career mode at all, it is still the unfinished bugged linear game mode.

I really can not see how they will be able to make 2011 and think it will turn profit. It is going to be a whole new team on this game if that happens though.

This was the only sports game I was excited for this year....

My hopes is on Basketball season(or finally buy a PS3 for my Baseball fix)

Im def getting a Soccer game and finally see what these NHL(if 2k makes one too) is all about(wish EA's NHL game gave me options to customize my franchise mode)

Man, that really sucks...I may just trade this in to GS when my Xbox Slim comes in...All they had to do was tweak Flash KO's a bit and tweak submissions on the AI and I'd have been happy (I don't play online that much).
