    Keith Jardine Cut by UFC

I was surprised to read this but according to MMA Mania Keith Jardine has been released by the UFC thanks to losing 6 of his last 8 fights over the last 3 years. Report was also confirmed through Dana White.

EDIT- In much smaller news, David Loiseau was also cut by the UFC.

wow the dean of mean is gone ????????? Guess he will be going to strike force. Far as louisea.......hell how many times is going to get cut and resigned by the ufc ? LOL I swear he was cut many years ago after he got stomped by franklin, then they resigned him and now he is cut again.

He is a more better trainer then actual fighter. He never was the shame after that franklin arse stomping.

"The Crow" was never anything special imo, his claim to fame was that spinning back kick on Charles McCarthy and the brutal beating he put on Evan Tanner with elbows but that was his entire offense, elbows and thats about it.

Im not surprised that Jardine was released due to his record but I am surprised that he was released since he seems to still have a strong following and always puts on entertaining fights. It will only be a matter of time before he ends up in Strikeforce, I see no other options for him at this point.

I'm sure Strikeforce has already contacted Jardine's agent. While his record the past couple of years isn't good, it's not like he lost to all B level fighters. He's a name MMA fans recognize and Strikeforce could do a Jardine vs. Walker catchweight main event fight.

            fairly big mistake imo.

it's not all about the record. You need guys like jardine too. Not everyone is a champion, and add to that a couple of his losses could have been scored in his favour.

            Dumb move.

Yeah pretty dumb move. It shouldn't just be based off of loses, but also off of if the guy actually competes and is a seat filler.

Jardine sells tickets and he actually does compete. It woud have been different if just got destroyed every fight and didn't fight back. This guy actually competes.

I like Jardine. I agree it is a dumb move by Dana. Plus Jardine is a nice guy and is good for the UFC.

I agree. If Dana actually think Jardine is that bad then why not let him have rematches against guys he's beat before, just to see if he really has digressed. Forrest and Chuck come to mind.

The guy has four consecutive losses. FOUR CONSECUTIVE LOSSES.

Jardine is not good, and he definitely can't compete. His last two losses were to Ryan Bader(KO) and Matt Hammill. Who is he going to beat? How many consecutive losses does he need to eventually be cut?

Fans like him, he puts them in the seats and that = $. that should have been more enough a reason to keep him.

Then let's call Kimbo back up, because I'm pretty sure he would bring in way more money than Keith Jardine ever would.

How long are fans going to be interested in seeing a glorified punching bag?

Is anyone still interested in seeing Chuck Liddell compete?

I know people were kind of thinking it was going to happen, but I never thought Dana White would go through with it. I'm kinda surprised, but kinda not if that makes sense.

                            You fans? lol, ok man.

Me and a friend debate the Kimbo thing since he's been released. I say he should be released b/c he clearly did not have a desire for the sport and was just in it for the money. Couple that w/ the way he last lost. You don't sacrifice the sport for that.

Jardine is not like that at all. As someone else pointed out, the decisions he lost could have been swung the other way. I thought his last last
Saturday was BS and that he clearly controlled that fight. He also has big wins against big names. He's a good guy that respects the UFC and sport itself. He's also a fan favorite who can put fans in the seats. Needless to say I've never seen a non entertaining Jardine fight.

I agree with you 100%, although I had heard that Kimbo was actually dedicating himself to training and trying to form some semblance of a ground game. It's funny, because me and a few guys were talking and I thought Strikeforce was going to sign Kimbo with the quickness. I thought if they did, he would be the biggest draw they have had so far. I don't know what it is, but no matter how bad Kimbo sucks, people are still interested in him/want to see him fight....maybe it's the beard, lol.

I do think Jardine will get snapped up by Strikeforce for sure though, he's a warrior.
