This is not business 101, it's the Vindictive Childish Stalker Advanced Course.
like I said, Fedor co-promotes M1. UFC is fine with Tapout sponsoring other guys, just not other promotions.

Sorry guys, I just don't feel sorry for Fedor with everything that transpired between his camp and the UFC in negotiations. I don't see it as childish, I see it as business. If Fedor was poor and wasn't making much per fight I'd have a problem with it but dude's got money.

On a side note, does anybody else find it ironic that the very fight that Fedor does indeed tap out he couldn't have Tapout as a sponsor? Just sayin'.

That's dumb. So basically the UFC owns all fighters and has a right to determine how successful they can be whether they're in the UFC or not?

I guess you can decide to be loyal to the UFC, like say Keith Jardine, and you will be set for life. They definitely won't use you up until you're not worth anything anymore then cast you to the side.

I mean really Fedor made himself as valuable as he is, he was the one putting his own personal health at risk everytime he stepped in the ring. The UFC had a chance to sign him and they couldn't, no need to start with this foolishness, I don't care how many people say this is "business 101" this is personal and you think would be beneath a company as successful as the UFC.

And M1 is supposed to be the mafia right?

Re: How Much More Childish And Vindictive Can Dana White Get?

All I'm saying is that this doesn't make Dana White childish and vindictive. I understand how business operates and by basically making Tapout have no choice but to not go through with sponsoring Fedor Dana puts more pressure on Fedor to sign with the UFC.

What I find funny is how people are acting like Dana is a jerk and no other highly successful companies or leagues would do this. You mean to tell me you couldn't see the NFL do this if Peyton Manning or Tom Brady decided not to play in the NFL and one of the NFL's top sponsors wanted to sign them for an endorsement deal? Dream on.

I'm not saying that Dana is or isn't a d-bag but I am saying that he is a smart businessman and this move was business-driven first but I'm sure he reveled in screwing Fedor over.

I can somewhat see that logic, but to me it just angers Fedor and his people even more and puts them farther from the UFC. That part MAY not even matter now after last night....who knows?

I thought that was a well known fact. Not always sucessful at it (Couture for example) but they try.

                    This is true.

It just sucks that guys get attacked personally for making decisions best for their own well being. If you want to compete for a fighter then make your own company more appealing, these are just regular guys trying to make a living.

To me its all about the fighters in the ring, I really don't care what logo is plastered to the mat.

The logo plastered on the mat helps pay for the fighters salaries. Carwin vs. Brock isn't brought to us by smooth refreshing Budwiser,Lego Harry Potter in stores now! and Predators in theatres July 9th for nothing.

I meant the logo of the organization.

With Dana you're with him or against him. Personally, I like how he thinks.

                            I didn't say that.

I said the UFC increased the chance to make more than a meager living with MMA.

If a fighter chooses to go to another route them great for them but it would be silly to expect Dana/UFC to help somebody OUTSIDE of their company to get over. In fact, trying to prevent it...good business.

The very "stroke" you complain about Dana weilding is the same "stroke" Fedor had been using to make demands. The sword cuts both ways.

Exactly...it's ok for Fedor to screw others over for M1, but not ok for Dana to do the same while he's doing what's in the best interest for UFC?
