If you want a fighting game, yes. If you want a true representation of the sport that is fun to play online and off, NO!

I don't really think the game is bad but it isn't a huge upgrade from 09. I guess I really just got bored with the game after figuring out the game mechanics and getting to the point where you know the possible outcomes of basically every situation. MMA is great because anything can happen but in the video game the submission and ground game is pretty limited. MMA is just very tough to do a video game for because the complexities of the sport. A better career mode that was more like FNR4 would of kept my interest in the game a bit higher. I also would like to see a new system for submissions and the ground game. I would tell someone to get 10 if they didn't play 09. If you played 09 and were still itching for more get 10. If you played 09 and at some point got bored with it avoid 10 because it isn't doing anything groundbreaking.

It's still a fun game if you're playing against your friends and you don't mind dumbing down your game to the point where you're trying not to beat them too quick. They would almost have to own it to make it a challenge. Just seems to me that it's not a game you can pick up and play because the ground game is a little difficult for some people to grasp, and even the striking becomes boring because you can put it on expert and easily defeat any striker, even if you're using a ground fighter. So basically I found it boring if I wasn't playing against another person who owns the game.

On top of that I never once won by submission vs the CPU. Maybe I'm too stupid to figure it out, hard to say. Also, the career to me is tedious and time consuming and really boring and not fun at all...to me.

I don't know what kind of improvements I could suggest really. I guess unless you play online some games won't be as much fun.

I agree. I am still playing 10 and enjoying it to a degree. Some things completely piss me off to no end but some of the things are great and make me smile inside lol. Cage work, sways, better clinch game all help make up for the terrible ground game.
