    Where did Tank go??

This is what I was talking about poor customer service by THQ. Tank comes in here and talks about helping the community. Then as quickly as the game flops he is never to be seen again.

You go to their main boards and VERY little info or feed back is given from the devs. THQ is HORRIBLE with filling in its customers of what is being done.

It is one thing to say, "Not much can be looked at in this years iteration and we will look to improve on the following title". It is a completely different case when you keep your fan base in the dark of what is going on with your game. Will we get a patch??? Will we get 2 patches??? Will the online get fixed?? Will the fight camps get looked into?? Will the auto-block and reversals get looked into???

Who the hell knows because they don't open their mouths. This makes it SOOOO frustrating for the fans. Someone like me who stood tall behind UFC 2009 and played it literally every night for a year. LOVED the game to death and would of gladly stood by THQ. But with the shape UFC 2010 was released hurt. I was not discourage though, I had hope that THQ like EA would release their gameplan and what we the fans could expect from their company. Instead we get no response, takes MONTHS to get a patch, blames bad sales on Red Dead, and then worst of all acts if we the fans are crazy and the game is fantastic.

THQ lost me as a customer because of their antics. In this day & age with Devs given great feed back and support to the online community. It is a poor mistake on THQ's part to push the fans aside and make them feel as if their voice means nothing and we should be happy with what was given to us.

To say I am bitter is a understatement. I feel like I was played by THQ and lied to. Many of their marketed features never worked from the get go. Sorry but I had to get this off my chest. Nothing against THQ, but I hope you guys get to read this and can relate from a gamers perspective of how NOT to interact with your fan base.

UFC 10 was the first game in years that I sold back. Normally I only buy games that I will play for a long time, and planned to do the same with 10. Like you said they have turned me away from their own game. Even when Tank did show up he said a lot of fluff and didnt actually respond to solid lists like you had put out.

Tank went MIA. He was only on here maybe 2 or 3 times and that was months ago.

That is my point GMSS. He went MIA. But if you remember he made a post saying he was glad to be here and was going to be here answering our questions. His job was to help us understand what THQ had in mind and the direction they were headed in fixing the issues with 10. Then as quickly as he showed up, he disappeared the moment serious questions were presented to him. Like is the online going to get fixed? Is certain game mechanics going to get looked into? etc etc.

I just find it very shady and "crooked" of THQ. I am also not naive and know they have jobs to do. But his job was to inform the community of THQ plans. I mean even their own forums rarely ever get a dev on there discussing anything pertaining to the game.

I just lost a lot of respect for THQ as a company. Especially with companies such as EA have made HUGE strides in interacting with the community and what we the gamers want. Leaving your customer base in the dark the way THQ did really put a bad taste in a lot of people mouths I believe.

The quality of the product also lead to the poor sales. Yet they took no ownership for the flaws and no action to repair the issues. Which many of the gameplay issues were simple tuning errors. Like steve mentioned in one of the other threads. The simple 3 transitions = success is just flat out poor design choices and has ZERO use of ratings. So does any of the ratings matter??? I could never tell if any ratings matter. I have just been baffled with the way they have handled UFC 2010 is all.

there was a user that got banned for mocking tank that called himself thq septic tank, cant say that i blame them for the hostility against him, he seemed more like a corperate schill and not having the customers best intersts at heart and just went on to defend the game at all costs.

            Re: Where did Tank go??

truer words are rarely spoken. I, too, loved UFC 09. The poor support and terrible ground game balancing also ruined 10 for me.

I don't know what it's like to be in Tank's position, so I guess in his defense I can say that he WAS at one point, actively pursuing information on how to stop 255 overall CAF's online. at least.

I was active in the UFC community, trying to get UFC 10 rebalanced and unfairly rated CAF's stricken from online among many other things. It should be noted that they did a (pee)-poor job of handling it the first time. Don't know whats happened recently, but judging by the OP, a 2nd patch hasn't hit yet/done anything pertaining to the problems.

Anyway, He publicly asked about how people were getting 255 overall CAFs. I emailed Tank a Link to a tutorial on how to make them. He replyed with a simple thanks which was enough for me to think that they were on it.

The state of that "community" was anarchistic a short time after that. I stopped playing UFC 2010 about that time, left the community for dead, and chuckled a little bit when I read that THQ was moving to an 18-20 month turnaround on their UFC franchise. They at least learned something.

I knew something was wrong with THQ the moment I heard they were doing the whole "online pass" thing. This concept reeks of "we don't care about you that much". Maybe thats the customers fault for not caring about them that much?

ps At this point, i'll take any kind of GG from EA as long as it's Balanced decently. I can imagine their Online Live fights to be publicly criticized for being to exploitable. Someone will win the Pay-per views with some 'cheese', i'm almost sure of it. Hopefully im wrong, because the game looks alright.

They should take a lesson from the NHL 11 crew. Redshirt is on these forums just about every day trying to get input from the NHL community, and listening to what they are saying about his game.

UFC 2010 was the worst game I bought all year. I even went to a midnight release for it and was really looking forward to it. I dont even think I played it for more than maybe 3 or 4 days. I really hope EA MMA doesnt disappoint.

THQ and Tank are now focused on the new Smackdown vs Raw game.

He's active on their community website.

Thanks for the heads up man. Guess they are on to marketing and telling lies to fans of another genre'.

Truly disgusting. THQ is the publisher correct? So who is the developer?? I want to know because I am not buying another game from that company.

yeah many wrestling game fans like myself back in the day were pissed when thq dropped the far superior aki to make thir wrestling games like they did on the nintendo 64, and went with yukes who developed the smackdown games on ps1. yukes has been putting out the same crap since the ps1 era.

The last wrestling game I bought was Here Comes The Pain and that was the last time I watched wrestling too. IMO the best wrestling game ever was that japanese fire pro wrestling game in the 90s. That game was awesome.

Different sport, but the same thing happened with Legends of Wrestlemania. It was the first time in YEARS I was looking forward to a wrestling game. Game came out, and THQ literally disappeared. No patches, no feedback, no DLC...nothing. THQ is the worst developer for post-release content. They literally just want to take the money and run...oh and at the same time expect everybody to come back like loyal sheep when their next hyped up game is coming out.
