EA MMA only because it don't get repetitive and there is variety in the sense that you get to choose which league you want to fight in and they all have different rule sets. UFC 2010 over all is more deeper with discipline specific fight camps, moves, throws, etc. However both UFC games career gets repetitive fast and boring.

Plus that whole decaying stats crap they had in UFC 2010 career mode was ANNOYING. You couldn't train hard, because if you did, you went into your fight tired as hell. If you try to focus in one aspect too much, then all of your other skills took a huge nose dive.

So in a way it FORCED you to be a well rounded fighter. Where as in EA MMA, you can just focus on one aspect. If you want a ground guy you can make a ground guy. Can even be specific about it to the point you can make him excellent in choke holds, leg locks or arm locks. Or just make him good in all 3. Same thing with stand up.

You can make a KO artist or a quick in and out fighter. That is one thing EA MMA really shines at in career mode. You can be excellent in maybe 3 or 4 things, out of 25 things, but the rest of the stuff is going to be average or poor because if it isn't in your discipline, they going to cap it off at a certain number.

Meaning if you a BJJ guy, your punch power can't be higher then the 60s, kick power can't be higher then 30s, however your submission skills can be in the 90s.

EA's career kind of does get repetitive, though. I'm already tired of going through 20 hours of speech by Rutten between every single fight. I just want to get to my next fight.

For me - EA's takes it, though (at least right now).

There are two big factors for that. The major one being training. I don't have to waste my time doing the same drills over and over. I simply accomplish a goal and then I can use that grade to auto-train. It's a nice system, because training really shouldn't be the main feature of the game like it became in the UFC games. I can concentrate on doing well in the drills the first time, and then use that grade to improve where I want to from then on automatically. I can also learn a full special move in one single "trip". I don't need to waste my time doing the same stupid drills over and over and over.

Also - being able to choose the rules you want to fight under is huge. I like the lack of UFC license, because they got some freedom out of it. I personally didn't want to fight in Strikeforce, so I picked the other league somewhere in Japan with 10 the and 5 rounds.

They've also added some things in that THQ just totally bombed out on. I can actually see my opponent's ratings and fight history. Was that so hard for THQ to do? I don't get why such a basic thing got left out.

Those are the two big ones for me. There are some annoyances... Why can't I choose my opponent ever? I always get forced to fight who they pick for me. You'd think I'd have an option at some point, but I'm 17-1 so far and I've never once gotten to pick my opponent.

I've really been enjoying the career mode, but one thing that drives me nuts is not being able to choose my next fight. For example I was 12-0 and I moved up to the second tier league, I fought this one guy and he destroyed me, we had a rematch and he did it again.

I then went on to win the belt and always wanted to be able to fight that guy again just cause he was the one guy I could never beat, small thing but their are other times when picking your fight would be so satisfying.

I am kinda liking not being able to pick your fight though. It makes your career mode a lot more interesting. You never know what type of fighter you will be fighting. You cant always pick a guy that plays to your strengths.

I sometimes wish I could pick people too, but I think it makes it a little more fun not being able to pick who you are going to fight.

Sure you do. Just look at their stats. I fought a lot of guys that had low sub ratings. Not all had low grapple ratings though.

I'm loving EA Sports MMA's career mode a lot more than UFC 2010's.

My biggest gripe with UFC 2010 was the fact that my fighter could barely progress and he more often than not regressed. I was still winning my fights, but my fighter's stats were going down rapidly. The only reason I wanted to go through UFC's career mode was so that I could clone a maxed out career fighter in order to make realistic CAFs in the game (by adjusting the maxed out CAF's ratings) but I ended up just not bothering. Maybe I'll get back on it soon, but it'll be a tedious process.

EA Sports MMA on the other hand, is very enjoyable. Like someone else said, the training is not repetitive as UFC's and being able to sim a workout based on a previous grade is great. In UFC I spent more time training my fighter whereas in EA I spent more time actually fighting. I also like the options in regards to choosing where to fight in your career like going to Strikeforce or Mystic (DREAM).

Am I mistaken, or does your fighter not age throughout career mode (EA MMA)?

I noticed that too... Another thing, the cpu in the clinch is giving me fits. I am having trouble managing my stamina due to the cpu's ability to maintain clinch control, which seems like no matter what the cpu's stamina is. The psychic blocking is another thing all together.

You do age. You can see it if you hit the "Phone" button and then go to your fight history. At the bottom under your name it will flash a couple of things and then you'll see your age. I think i started my fighter at 22 and i'm now 28. Funny thing is Bas just told me that a couple of more fights and i'll be forced into retirement?? At 28?? lol
