    Hard is HARD

Maybe I'm just not the joystick-jockey of some of you guys, but I find "Hard" difficulty to be well...close to impossible and Medium to be too easy.

    At least with my CAF.

Fighting as Fedor I could usually GNP or joint-lock my way to a win on Hard, but god-forbid I get caught in a choke. With my CAF, even those he's a BJJ-stud and a decent stand-up guy, I can't get any sort of victory on hard. I come close to TKO's and they recover and turtle up. Chokes are impossible, the damn AI seems to find the sweet-spot immediately and follow it perfectly. And even joint-locks are pretty tough (that's my only shot at finishing a fight).

Aside from the general "practice n00b" comments, any actual suggestions?

Practice noob. Now that's out of the way, for stand up dont get too crazy, instead of pouncing like a teen on his first piece, pick shots, cut off the ring/cage. throw leg kicks to keep them slow and not able to escape. And mix head and body shots. For subs, you just gotta work at it, and up your grapple d ASAP. That will give you a better chance to find the spot or fight joint locks, or even avoid being put in a sub all together.

      That's what she...

I'm still on medium and may move up this weekend. I practice as much as I can on medium for now. I need to find a way to stop lowering my stamina. I read all about not panicking and being patient but I get this idea that my pass isn't taking so I double hit. That must be it. That and I'm not defending body shots correctly. Stamina is very well done in this game. That's where I currently struggle most.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

With my CAF I do pick my shots. My stand up is great, and I mix it up between head and body well - although my stand up power isn't maxed out. I have no problem with stand up - even knocking guys out with it although I favor BJJ. My grapple D is maxed out...although my choke D isn't great. And my choke offense is maxed out and i still can't sink it in. the damn choke minigame moves so fast on hard.

I could use BJ Penn vs. some scrub with no submission defense (as I did like 10 times last night) and still be unable to lock on a choke or escape from a triangle, that's the issue. Where on Medium I'd school the guy inside the first round.

I guess I can just keep losing on "Hard" and hoping I somehow get better at the choke minigame.

Stamina is awesomely well represented, and honestly, until I learned to properly manage my stamina (which sometimes means landing a flurry and then backing off because your stamina is way down), I was routinely having issues, particularly on the ground, both from the top and the bottom, with being too gassed to defend/improve my position.

            Re: Hard is HARD

I'd actually say Hard is really well done.

In this game, stats matter. I've found I need to mostly fight to my strength or their weakness. When I've got a guy who is closely rated to another in most areas, the fight is close. When I'm heavily outmatched, it tends to be a quick loss, or I'm mostly just surviving. When I heavily outmatch my opponent, it tends to be a beat down for them.

The fighters really matter in this game, and it's great.

Just practice some, and learn to take a quick look at what your fighter should and should not be doing.
