When a fighter becomes champ of a lesser known organization, does it hurt or help him

I was reading Sokouju is now the light heavyweight champion of a Polish organization. And I always thought it was weird how former UFC fighters are making money for just fighting in the UFC, regardless of what their record was in the UFC or how long they fought for the UFC.

They lableled him a UFC vet.....but yet he was 1-2 in the UFC and only fought for a year in the UFC.

Just seems weird seeing scrubs in the UFC go to smaller organizations and become champion.....

If a fighter is winning fights, then it can only help him. If the UFC cuts anyone that's still in there athletic prime, and they rattle off a few wins in a row, they'll find their way back into the UFC. Just look at Elliot Marshall this past weekend. He was cut, won 3 straight out of the UFC and then they brought him back.

Exactly. I wouldnt be surprised to see guys like Jardine back in the UFC if they can rattle off 4-5 wins in a row

Jardine is 2-1 since. I'm still suprised they cut him, regardless of record he put on a lot of good fights and only fought top guys. Though yah winning can only help. Don't see how it could hurt.
