        Re: GSP vs Diaz

I actually believe that Diaz can beat him and I almost hope it happens just to shake up the division a bit. Having said that, I can see a replay of the Shields fight where GSP and Nick trade jabs back and forth for 5 rounds and nothing more. If GSP didnt want to play with Shields on the ground then I doubt he does with Diaz so the entertainment value of this fight is going to be squarly on Diaz to really push the action and try and take him down otherwise its going to be a carbon copy of the Shields fight.

          Re: GSP vs Diaz

Put it this way, this is the most entertaining fight on paper in terms of the opponent actually being able to muster something against GSP.

At least in my opinion. Everyone else is in the division is either boring and/or has too many holes in their game to make it an exciting or challenging fight against GSP.

I think Diaz can offer an entertaining challenge while at the same time challenge to actually win the fight. He's tricky enough to hopefully not just be taken down every second but we all know about his questionable TDD.

I think GSP is going to want to take it to the ground. Diaz has good submissions, but his all around BJJ isn't near as good as Shields. Meaning, once GSP gets top control he's not going to get swept by Diaz. I see a heavy dose of ground and pound.

Diaz should change his name to Rodney dangerfield.....cause he gets no respect. He might not have the greatest bjj, but his ground attack is very good and is well complemented by his striking attack....and he's all heart...I actually think that the only advantage GSP has is speed.

i agree....Diaz has all the tools necessary to beat GSP and I think he will....i wouldn't compare Diaz and Sheilds.....Diaz has very good boxing skills as to Sheilds has NO striking game and depends 90% on ground attack....thats why his fight with GSP was so boring....I think it's going to be a great fight and i'm rooting for rodney.....I mean Diaz

GSP is going to take him down constantly and out point him. It will probably be another boring GSP fight as he is not going to stand and bang with Diaz. This will be a lay and pray fight which will only frustrate Diaz who will showboat on his back and talk.

Man I wish that I had psychic abilities like you. That would certainly save me $55 per PPV and a Showtime subscription.

He's upset with my post in the NCAA forum where the question was asked on which game do we think will be better this year.......Madden or NCAA. Once again it is an opinion but I guess he feels differently and is now on a mission to take anything I say personal. Doesn't bother me as to each their own I guess.

Mosr everyone seems to think that Diaz is the same fighter he was before when he was in the UFC. I think that he has vastly improved his game and is going to give GSP all he wants.

Diaz is very good and is better at the stand up than GSP. However, GSP is the better wrestler and will go after the takedowns for points. That has been my issue with GSP and that he is not out to finish fights. He will be the reason why this fight will be boring. GSP will take Diaz down, avoid wrestling much since he doesn't want to be submitted by Diaz. He will jab Diaz for points looking to score another takedown for points. Try not to take my opinions personal bro as I have nothing against you or anyone else who pick one or the other.
