These guys are top tier fighters, there's no reason for them to only go 3 rounds when they are so evenly matched.

Plus look at all the great 5 rounds fights we've seen recently. Edgar/Maynard, Pettis/Henderson, Santiago/Misaki just to name a few. If Pettis/Henderson was just a fight in the UFC it would have been no where near as good as it was. I'm surprised to see so many people against it here. Pretty much everywhere else I look is in high praise of this move.
The problem is you dont know if a fight should have been longer until you see it. If Rampage/Hamill was a barn burner people would have been calling for 5 rounds for that fight. If Fitch laid on Penn for 3 rounds, no one would have wanted to see two more rounds.

Same here, I like it. I still don't know how Lytle/Hardy is main event. Bendo/Miller would be a great 5 round main event I believe

Maybe they should make it where anything other than 3-0 goes 5 rounds. If it is 3-0, you don't deserve 2 more rounds.

          Me neither.

If you have a lot of wrestlers on a given card, the event will take forever.

Oh, I missed that. Thanks. I still don't like it though.

Flyweights are good. Should add more variety and more entertaining fights.

As I said in the other topic about 5 rounders, title fights and #1 contender fights? Yes.
                Hardy vs. Lytle? No.

Man, lot's of Lytle hate in this thread. He's one of my favorites. Is it just because you guys are against the 5 round fights for non-contenders or do you find Lytle to be a boring fighter?

Just an example of a fight that shouldn't be 5 rounds for me. I actually think it'll be a great fight but it doesn't have much meaning.

Against 5 rounds for non #1 contenders. I think Hardy/Lytle will be a great fight.

Nothing against Lytle, just that a relatively meaningless fight in Hardy/Lytle would be a 5 rounds, while an extremely relevant fight in Miller/Henderson would only be 3.

So it's really nothing against Lytle/Hardy, more so the UFC for putting that fight as the main event.

Hardy loses he's gone, Lytle too possibly.
It is upsetting, when that one has title capabilities.
