I mean he was coming off a huge layoff, and surgery.
But seriously, I don't get how people can jump to these conclusions about Cain when the fight lasted for a minute.
He looked slow and out of shape? You gathered that from a 60 second fight in which they hardly did anything?
People saying "Cain should have used his wrestling more".
Again the fight lasted for 60 seconds.
Interesting tidbits on the ratings from MMAFighting.com
"While the event was the first time ever for the UFC on broadcast television, it wasn't the first time for MMA on a network platform. In 2008, an EliteXC event was the first to pull off the feat, airing an event featuring Kimbo Slice vs. James Thompson that drew an average of 4.3 million viewers. That event, which lasted more than two hours, peaked with over 6.5 million viewers to watch Slice knock out Thompson. The match went into the third round, likely helping the broadcast draw viewers as it went along. That's a stark contrast to dos Santos-Velasquez, which lasted just 64 seconds.
The one-hour special was extremely strong among the male 18-34 demographic, as it out-rated every college football game this year with the exception of November 5's LSU vs. Alabama game, a matchup that featured No. 1 vs. No. 2 in the national rankings."Comment

Overall all this comment does is reinforce the fact I am not purchasing a UFC event on pay-per-view for long time. I hope Dana loses money from other like myself, #1 rule of business "Don't bite the hand that feeds". He knows a one fight format was dumb and all the hardcore know also. Get over it and don't tell your viewers to "Shut the **** up"!!Comment

This right here just pisses me off even more. I have been a "hardcore" UFC fan for a long time and I personally think the one fight format was the dumbest business move they have made. You have a free event 138 Leben vs Munoz which was a excellent card. Then you have your "coming out" party on FOX and it is 45 min of talking and 1:04 sec of fighting. That is not going to draw any more viewers or fans to the sport. That is part of the same blue print that hurt boxing. People want to watch many different fighters, many different fight styles, and multiple different weight classes.

Interesting. Looks like Dos Santos tore his meniscus a couple weeks ago and couldn't walk for 2 days afterward. I know the fight was short but I couldn't tell.Comment
