    Bellator bought by Viacom!

Big news for Bellator. Viacom purchased a controlling interest in Bellator and will air Bellator fights on Spike starting 2013.

This is a big day for Bellator. New financing and a better TV deal for the second biggest MMA organization in the world.

This is cool. I just wish the switch was happening sooner though I understand why they have to wait. It just means another year of finding alternative ways to watch for me.

2013 is a bit of a wait, but this is good news for Bellator nevertheless. I figured Spike would want to stay in the MMA game because honestly it's the best thing they have going on their network.

Viacom owns MTV as well.....so I don't see whats the difference between them showing it on MTV2 and showing it on Spike. Unless a lot of providers don't offer MTV2

Spike is in about 22 million more households than MTV2.

That's the big problem for me. I find watching the prelims on spiketv.com a lot more enjoyable just because it is in HD.

That and the fact they air on Saturday nights. Hopefully when they move to Spike they go to Thursday or Friday.

Running live shows during the week would be bad for business I think. Friday would work but TUF is also moving to Friday.
