    Re: UFC on Fox 2 - Evans v. Davis - Jan 28 - Chicago

There is absolutly no doubt in my mind that Silva will not be on a Fox b'cast.
correct me if I am wrong, but didn't they split tthe screen for commercials and corner time for the last even? Breaking up the show between every round is a show-stopper, literally and figurally.

I think they should put it on Fox.

Chael will hype it up, it'll be a big fight. If UFC is trying to get new fans they need to have bigger fights on Fox.

If Silva/Sonnen 2 is in Brazil, then I don't think it will be on Fox.

They're not going to put Silva, GSP, or Jones fights on FOX. Too much money for them to make off PPV. The FOX cards will likely continue being these #1 contender type fights for a title. You had 2 tonight, and the next FOX card has another in Miller vs. Diaz.

Lackluster main card, but you could see it coming from a mile away with these fights. At least they're throwing a lightweight fight on the next FOX card so we can get some guaranteed excitement.

I still feel that the UFC screwed up big time by not putting Edgar vs. Henderson on this card. Edgar isn't big enough a draw on PPV yet, so a fight on national TV that will most likely be awesome would get a ton of recognition for both fighters. Instead they are wasting the fight on that pointless card they are doing in Japan that no one will care about.

Sub of the Night Oliveira, KO Lavar Johnson, FON Dunham vs. Lentz. Each guy gets $65k.

            65K is a nice bonus.

Bisping robbed! Bet if that one was in England he would've won.

Davis looked entirely outclassed. I gave him the 3rd though.

Bisping was definitely not robbed. It had a close round or two that could go either way depending on how you saw it, and the 3rd was Chael's. In no way was it a robbery.

Either way - the three main fights were pretty lackluster - probably not gaining many fans at this point from them. Their last few cards have been amazing, then this one just kind of dropped the ball.

                    - When you factor in the whole card, I thought this was the worst card in awhile.

                    - I thought Bisping won Rounds 1 and 2. He deserves another number 1 contender match because most fans also feel like he won

                    - I have no idea how 2 of the judges scored it 29-28 for Russow. Some of these judges are blind.

                    - Jones was pretty bad as an analyst. At the start of the broadcast he was moving side to side on his chair and kept on looking at his notes.

                    - The UFC and Fox had 2hrs to air 3 fights and they still went over the time slot. It looks like they eliminated a Phil Davis story package before the main event, Jones walking into the octagon, and the Davis walk out. I DVR'ed the event and I still feel like there were a ton of commercial breaks.

It was a robbery. Bisping won the first 2.

                      Chael interview there.
"I got hit so hard in the first round,he hurt me so bad it's one of those deals where I didn't know where we were or what we were doing."
"I said what do you think? He said he I think I got ya,I said you might have."
"I told him,you have no idea how bad you hurt me."

Apparently the judges didn't either. That doesn't sound like a fight winner and sure as heck doesn't sound anything like the recent Chael we've come to know. That says it all to me.

I know exactly what happend,Chael got credit for those takedowns he did nothing with.

Meh, I can't say Bisping got robbed at all. It's a fight bro, people are going to get their bell rung. That doesn't in anyway mean that Bisping did much to secure a victory.

I wouldn't have been mad if either guy won. It was a stalemate.

This is how I feel. I think Bisping could've been given the win and not many would've argued. Could've gone either way. If Bisping wins his next fight, give him to Silva/Sonnen for the title.

                            No, it wasn't a robbery.

A robbery would imply the losing fighter absolutely, 100% won the fight. The first round was close - quite close. The second was Bisping by most accounts, the 3rd was Chael's. So we've got 1 round that for the most part was close enough to go either way - and a lot of people saw it going Chael's way.

A robbery would be Bisping vs Hammil or Phan vs Garcia. Those are robberies. This was not a robbery. Chael seemed to do enough in round one to squeak it out, and definitely took round 3.

Yeah, I agree. There's a difference between robbery and a close fight. Robbery is when you clearly win and the judges don't see it that way. (ie. Shogun / Machida I, Phan / Garcia I)

Do I think it was a close fight? Sure. Bisping did a LOT better then what a lot of people were expecting, including myself. I give him the 2nd round. I don't give Bisping the first round though. Clearly Chael won the third round.

Watch the fight with the commentary off. Rogan made it sound like Bisping was doing all of this great stuff when in reality he was wall and stalling Chael up against the fence. I thought right after the fight that Chael won 29-28.

FWIW, FightMetric also agrees and says that Chael outstruck Bisping in the first anyway. Bisping impressed me more in his loss though then Chael did in victory.

I was at this event and had great seats. The undercard fights were far more entertaining than the co main events(s) and main event. The atmosphere was pretty cool but during all 3 main fights - the place was dead silent and people were booing. It was the quietiest I've ever heard the united center or any sports arena for that matter.

I dont mind watching a technical battle now and again, but 3 in a row is pretty boring. Most people were filing out in the 4th round of the evans fight. Mr Wonderful didn't look so hot after he got hit a few times in the first round, looked extremely gunshy. Hopefully the condit diaz fight will live up to the hype- going to see it in the theatre this weekend.
