Picked it up last night. Set up tournaments for each weight class to determine my starting champions before I start organizing fight cards for an offline league.

Seeded guys by:

#1 - Whoever is the current division champion IRL
#2-#16 - Seeded by overalls. If multiple guys share the same rating, I looked at the rankings on the GM spreadsheet that's here on the forums.
- If there were more than 16 guys in a division (like MW division), I had play-in fights for the bottom seeds.

So anyways, got the tournaments all set up in Excel, and played each match on Advanced/Sim (I control the higher seeded fighter in a match.) Semi-finals came down to Lesnar/Rothwell and Mir/Velasquez. Lesnar and Mir both won their matches, where Brock bested Mir (me) in the final.

Loving the game so far this year. Haven't played much outside of the heavyweight division, but I am AWFUL with Jon Jones. Not sure what it is.

I just had an awesome Pride Heavyweight Grand Prix. I managed to make it all the way to the finals with Gilbert Yvel before getting knocked out by Frank Mir. Mir's head damage was at 97 percent, so I almost got the job done. Watching him celebrate with the trophy pissed me off lol.

Haven't played UFC since the first one. Picked this up because I enjoyed the demo.

Initial Impressions :
a.) Any downside of using amateur grappling rather than pro? Do you miss out on anything, because the pro control is either too unresponsive or I don't know how to do it worth a lick. I think it's both .

b.) CPU comes at you, and I either jab my *** off to get them off or I get my punches canceled out by their steady 3 power punches in a row.

c.) How the hell do you get online? I've bought the game but have yet to redeem my code, I've been able to see the user agreement once - but no where to put in the code. It shows it locked? Poorly layed out. Tells me to connect to PS Network to get the season pass... I am connected to the PS Network and I still can't get online, Seriously, how the hell? EDIT : Got it, you have to do it directly from PS Store redeem code.

d.) Seem to spend more time waiting on load screens, connecting screens (at startup although I can't find online) or after match mandatory cutscenes rather than playing (on PS3). The amount of waiting, and screens to go through and waiting is just a little overboard to the degree it almost makes me second guess picking this up.

Initial impression : Wish the demo gave me 3 rounds or full fight and I could have saved $60, I'm not too happy right now after about 3 hours of playing. This could change, but it's an initial impression for someone that may be in similar shoes and debating about picking this up in which case having started it up, I would have waited until a price drop.

Question: Does anyone know of a way to save a tournament? I want to do a 16-fighter tournament but not have to do the whole thing in one sitting.

The Career mode, are you able to use any of the fighters or do you have to create one?

Like if i wanted to use Tito and do career mode can I? and would I be able to alter his attire and stuff too then during his career?

I got the game yesterday only got to play a bit cuz of vday, almost done work to go hit up tonight!!

I had some absolute wars as Shogun in Title Mode. I ended up fighting Machida for the title and had one of the most intense battles that I've ever had in a MMA game. Hell, maybe even any sports game ever. He beat me down in the first two rounds, but I was able to comeback and have a good third round and even better fourth. I knew that I had to go balls to the wall in the last round if I wanted the belt. I ended up being a little too aggressive and got picked apart. I got knocked down three times throughout the round and on the last one he jumped on top of me and got the TKO with 23 seconds left.

Unfortunately that was my third loss, but I can't wait to start another one in a different weight-class.

Yes you can use real fighters, and if you wanted to make Tito a kickboxer you could.

Is the submission system starting to grow on anyone else? I first I hated it but now that I'm starting to learn what I'm doing it's not that bad. My only gripe is that it should be smaller or more transparent.

I play on the PS3, and was wanting to know if anyone else was experiencing any lag or slow game play when training on the career mode? It always happens when I am at the ATT gym.
