    Re: Training Sessions

On the punching bag, use power punches. Seems to increase the bar in my experiences. Also these training sessions get harder as you get better. So just when you have it down packed.....it changes on you.

I can do every training session with 4 stars except the tire training. I just auto train it. So frustrating....not worth it.

Here is what helps me with the Tire Drill....

When you flip the tire you'll see the arrow(s) on the sides that are available to move to. To get to the spot you want with your stick rotation, think of your stick as the tire. If you want to get to the top of the tire and you are standing to the right, you move up and then quarter turn to the right...

Basically you move the stick from where you want to be to where you are. The quarter turns are very small turns and when you want to go all the way around it's more of a 180 on the rotation.

Here is how I do the Focus Mitts (super easy once I figured out how to do it)

HOLD DOWN THE RIGHT BUMPER THE WHOLE TIME....

Then its just one punch to start the drill and every move after is just laid out for you.

Up Y, Right Y, Left X, Down X, Up Y, Up Y.....and so on. If you mess up... throw another punch to start the sequence again and then sway and strike with the direction and then the button shown.

The one that I can't get close to three stars on is Ground and Pound Sparring. Nothing I'm doing is getting me the larger chunks on the progress bar. I'm transitioning and punching, and even posturing up and throwing bombs, but by the time I'm done, I'm barely past the 2 star mark. I'd love some advice on this one.

Getting the most out of your action points

          Another thing...

For those of you having trouble and wanting more practice, all you have to do is run the drill and then hit start, exit to career menu, and then continue your career again. It only takes a few seconds and you are right back redoing 1 of your 2 actions per fight.... You can use this to practice and get better and then when you get four stars, you can save at that point so that you don't lose that progress before continuing onto your second action.

You can also do this prior to a fight. Obviously you could then ensure that you end up with a 48-0 record in career mode, but for learning purposes, doing that helped me a lot. When you do 5+ fights against the same guy, who is attacking you in an area where you are weak, eventually you figure out how to deal with it a little better.

Just got 3 almost 4 stars on my first try. Thanks so much! I was going to the head and getting nowhere on the progress bar. I'm sure I'll have 4 stars in no time.

No problem. If I can help people in anyway I can I will. It took me a little bit to realize that the body was where you have to punch.
