Lavar Johnson got injured and pulled out his match with Schaub. Schaub won't be on the card now.

Yeah, that's too bad. Johnson is a tank, it's fun watching him throw. Hopefully he'll bounce back soon. Good looking out on the Fox special, Ex. I'll definitely have to check that out. Can't wait for this card.

I was disappointed in the Fox special.. Their target audience wasn't very defined.. They failed to captivate either the casuals nor the followers IMO. They proclaimed this was the greatest fight card in network tv history but then also didn't tell us why this was such a great card. No real context on Rory nor Gus on why they are such legit prospects.

Oh well I just hope and pray everyone gets to Seattle healthy.

I didnt hate it. Casual fans care more about the fighters private lives and getting to know the fighters than wins and losses imo. I think the show did a solid job with that. The Gus profile was a good mix of showing the wins over Hamill and Silva with his family and how he found MMA. Rory is tough to profile because 1) he's kind of quiet and 2) his biggest win is over Nate Diaz who the same show is trying to hype up as the #2 LW in the world. Its tricky to hype up Nate and give Rory credit for smashing him.

I thought the worst part was actually the Hendo/Diaz part. They spent a whole segment focusing on Hendo's mom which isnt why I watch shows like that but I'm also not a casual fan.

On another note, Michael Chiesa is out with an illness. No replacement and the fight is cancelled.

The best part was the Hendo and Nate part. Because they proved and sent a message to casuals, mainly kids that just because you had a rough childhood or grew up in a 1 parent home that don't mean you can't make something of yourself. I lost count how many times I hear people say they working in retail or flipping burgers for a living because they grew up without their dad or because they grew up dirt poor and didn't have the opportunities a well off kid had.

Ben and Nate beat the odds and made something of themselves despite their situation up bringing. Your background doesn't define you, you can make it out of a bad situation if you try. That was the message they were trying to portray and they did a good job with it.
