I figured they'd try to cash out sooner or later. Could be interesting times if this pans out.

Come on Steve_OS! Buy the UFC with all of that OS Ad money! Then put me in charge of matchups or hiring octagon girls. I don't care which one... I'm not too picky.

They have been trying to sell for a long time but just haven't found any interest. I would love for them to sell to someone smart, but smart people won't buy it because they see a lot of risks upcoming. UFC has tried to beef up the company with guaranteed money, but PPVs being somewhat down because of not many stars left, fighters not happy about pay and potential union, etc.

The only way to get rid of Dana is for a new buyer to do it.

With NY maybe being legal next week, they might think it is the highest value they can get now.

Viacom has money, maybe they take it, the FOX contract ends soon. Fold Bellator into it and use it as a minor league/old star league.

I could see them trying now however I think it will be a tough sale unless they take under market value which I wouldn't expect them to do. Fertittas/white did great things with the sport however I think they got a bit too greedy/ pushed growth too much in the end. I was a die hard fan who bought basically every card from 05-11. The last several years I don't watch nearly as many cards. It was fun when the cards was only every 6 weeks or so and there was a lot of anticipation for a big fight. Now there are too many cards and fight pass which is annoying. Maybe I'm not as die hard as I thought but 60 bucks every 3 weeksish and 10 bucks for fight pass, no thanks. Anymore I just want to see the very best in competitive fights. The UFC has saturated and passed their peak in the states. They started having more fights outside of the US however most countries don't do PPV fights and that is where their bread gets buttered. Other than stuff like the Reebok deal which no one likes. Also I thought Fox over paid for the last deal and I'm guessing the next TV deal in the states wont be so sweet.

losing Dana white will be bad for the UFC, even if you like or don't like Dana white.

He has made the UFC what it is today with his take no crap attitude.

people hated the reebok deal, but I loved it and the direction he wants to take the UFC.

            Just my thoughts...

I like Dana but the Reebok deal is terrible and those uniforms are ugly. No one is buying that stuff.

Dana is holding the UFC back now. Dana helped build the UFC, but he needs to step aside if he wants this to be a professional product. His saying one thing and then doing something else, language used all the time, getting into troll fights on Twitter, etc. Not to mention the terrible Reebok deal for the fighters while he lines the UFC's pockets with the missing unaccounted for money.

Re: White and Fertitas looking to sell the UFC?

UFC's owners are in advanced talks to sell the organization, with at least four bidders believed to have submitted offers with the winning bid expected to be up to $4 billion.

Looks like it may be true,

Looks like they are trying to cash out on success of Conor and Ronda. I wonder how much changes if the Chinese group or the China government backed group buys them.

Dana lies all the time, it's almost a lock that the sale is happening after he said that.

Edit: Rovell has tweeted that they had 5 independent sources, 3 of which had the docs from the investment bank that the UFC used to put the word out.

Also rumors that they may want to get in on the Raiders and need cash to do that.

Blackstone would be the best, the other one represents athletes so I don't want that dynamic introduced unless they drop current fighters.

I hope they bring back the Pride presentation, some rules, and replace Dana.

I always thought they could flip it to pride while doing shows in Japan and use those rules while they are there - but try telling that to anyone who works anywhere near the word of the century: "BRAND"

The UFC to me has already had it's golden age and is currently declining imo. But that doesn't mean it's going to die or anything, it's just like other sports like the NBA for example where you have some decades or 5 year stretches much better than others. For me it started being less appealing as soon as fox got involved.

Unionization is the biggest thing to come next, that issue has been brewing a long time - you have Dana saying deals like Reebok make it more like the NFL with a uniform, but no you can't have a players union!
