Yh I tend to agree. This card wasn't that appealing to me at all from the start...especially the main event. Could have easily been an FS1 card.

Regarding Silva - Brunson, I dont see where the controversy comes from. It was a close fight but I think Silva edged the decision.

The only actual offense from Brunson came in those sub Thai clinch flurries. Outside of that he had pretty much nothing at all. Silva stuffed 10 of 12 takedowns. And the 2 takedowns Brunson got he managed no offense with them. Also at points Silva was literally sprinting after Brunson and Bruson would turn his back and run away... Not a good look to the judges..

You cant win a fight running away from the action, having 90% of your takedowns stuffed, and dealing no damage..

It was a close fight but Brunson didnt really make anything happen.

The cost of running a card in Brooklyn is very expensive. They had to run it as a PPV.

Yh I had Anderson winning the fight but I knew it was close. The most Brunson did was that flurry from sub thai clinch. Like I thought was gonna happen, Brunson seemed shy to pull the trigger cuz of the intimidation factor that comes with fighting a guy like Silva. And cuz of that, for the most part I thought Silva controlled the action and had Brunson backing up for most of the fight. However one could still make the argument that Brunson won based on seeing Silva intentionally eating some shots and doing his usual shenanigans. Either way the judges saw different.

Main card was all star power, how was it not PPV level???

Sure it didn't pan out great, but there was big names, interesting style clashes, and fun stories to the entire main card.

Easily PPV level IMO.

Main card was all star power, how was it not PPV level???

Sure it didn't pan out great, but there was big names, interesting style clashes, and fun stories to the entire main card.

Easily PPV level IMO.

I mean..... I kinda disagree. Most the fights, it felt, were potential squashes and hearing Silva's name in 2017 is a lot different than hearing his name just five years ago.

You also can't win a fight by doing nothing as a counter striker and not leading. If the other person doesn't lead, you can't score.

Gotta disagree man. 3 of the 4 of the people in the main and co-main events were coming off losses. And the one who wasn't had no real star power to speak of. Jacare vs Boetsch had no business happening at all.
