He lasted longer than I expected cuz this guy's a killer and he's huge too. I'll say this though...with all those left hands he was sneaking in, pre USADA hendricks would have probably slept Costa tbh.

Same, I thought it would be 1 round, but maybe put too much stock into Costa and too little into Hendricks. But it paid off in the end, maybe this guy is the next Brazilian freak he already looks a bit like Superman.

The next fight is one of the harder ones to call, Wonderboy v Masvidal. I think Wonderboy wins this, but Masvidal poses a lot of the same problems that Woodley did.

I can see Masvidal KO Wonderboy if he chases him like he did Woodley, if he is more evasive like he was prior he has a better chance.

He has no right to be a welterweight.

Woodley only dropped Thompson in the 2nd fight because he ran at him right at the end, you chase Thompson throughout the fight and you're eating a cross like Patrick Cote. Thompson also recovers pretty fast after being rocked/dropped.

I'm a massive Thompson fan and I personally think he won the 2nd fight against Woodley, but I think he'll struggle to get another title shot even if he keeps winning because I don't think Dana will be interested in repeating what happened in their 2nd fight. I think he only gets another title shot if the belt changes hands.

I was thoroughly surprised in the first fight that he chose to chase Woodley rather than be the evasive like he was before. I mean he took out Robert Whittaker who's one of the best.

Masvidal is no joke tho, he has far more experience to draw from.

              It's starting now

So far that patient karate counter fighting style giving Jorge problems.

I'd say 1st round Thompson, Masvidal is struggling to hit him.

Damn Masvidal gets knocked off balance with a body side kick in the first and gets dropped with a side step right straight in the second.

Thompson's jab-straight is the story of this fight right now.

That and his distance management. Jorge is also worried about his counters so he is a bit shy to engage.

That was a clinic by Thompson.

Same story for everyone he's fought basically, his ability to switch stances so fluently and get in and out so quickly makes it tough to hit him. What tends to happen is people just start lunging at him and tbh people have had some success with that against Thompson because his hands are so low, but most of the time he just counters them.

Next fight is easier to call, but no guarantee. Jędrzejczyk v Namajunas. Jędrzejczyk is the favorite, and rightfully so- she has viscous low kicks and clinching strikes. Namajunas may catch a few wobbles, as Jędrzejczyk tends to leave herself open in brawls, the back is a prime route for Namajunas.

Namajunas' praying to win here. I don't like her chances.
