Yh he's saving that stamina. I'm surprised Rockhold ain't tried to grapple yet though.

Rockhold's 1-2 is very very sharp, he needs to keep that up.
Yoel is missing alot and wasting energy, he did land alot in that round though.
I like how Romero is using is forearms to block punches and his checks.. also he has that rare ability to slow the fight down to his pace, very few fighters have that ability.

Who said Romero cant punch in combination aye

I called the left hand over the top but didn't see it happening past round 2 damn. Imagine getting KTFO by Romero then wake up to him in your face ''I LUHHHH YUH''

He fought smart, paced himself and this time and saved his stamina so he would still be explosive in the later rounds. Good strategy and performance by Romero against a pretty game Rockhold. Really thought Rockhold would have tried to grapple though.

Pretty bad timing on that left hook from Rockhold. Rockhold looks more and more mortal all the time these days.

I think the burst in the second from Romero, made Rockhold tentative but at the end of round 2 he looked like he was gaining control again. Rockhold was doing some good things, those leg kicks messed up Yoel's leg and his 1-2 was landing. I was expecting some grappling from Rockhold aswell, I think he was just getting overwhelmed in the end. He kept getting backed up and Romero was marching him down like the Soldier of God would.

I'm interested to see where Rockhold goes from here, he's done at MW but at LHW you have some heavy hitters sooo...

Maybe he ends up in Bellator. I'd watch Mousasi vs Rockhold.

What does the UFC do now? They can't give Romero the championship fight after missing weight, Rockhold got knocked out.

Why not? It was short notice and he saved the card... he has never missed weight before.

Romero vs Whittaker 2 is the only fight to make.

He has a glass jaw now it seems, so going might now be a good thing. He does cut a ton of weight, so it could to move up and not dehydrate his brain so much, but who knows. I know he will then have to face taller and longer fighters, so it won't be easy.

Looks like Rockhold screwed his leg up on the 2nd kick, so maybe he didn't think he could get him down.

4 weeks is plenty of time, he was already training. He also didn't drain himself to make the weight, so that helped his performance. No way you give a 40 year old the chance to end a card without proving he can make weight and supposedly off PEDs now.
