This is such a good matchup for Stipe. Something that people don't give him and his team much credit for is how great they are in terms of fight IQ and gameplanning.

        Stipe definitely wins this one.

Yh I knew I couldn't be the only one that thought this was a bad matchup for DC. DC's not really a good striker and Stipe is a good wrestler himself. He's just gonna "wrestle in reverse" and force DC to stand. He's the more skilled guy on the feet and granted nothing crazy happens, he'll have the advantage there and could probably finish DC. Only way I see DC winning is if he can indeed out wrestle Stipe and ground him (which I doubt) or if the punchers chance luckily comes through for him on the feet.

Stipe is definitely hittable. I heard Stipe brought in Ryan Bader for a training partner. Bader is a stud, but I really hope he also brought in better wrestlers than Ryan.

Odds makers have Stipe over a 2:1 favorite if I'm interpreting them correctly.

Wrestling in reverse takes away from your striking though. He can't do that and go defensive, he needs to stay aggressive and just rely on his training to get back up. He can't be like every Khabib opponent and because he will losing the striking and probably still be taken down.

It doesn't always take away. We've seen guys do it successfully. The big question is if he can stay on his feet or what. Sure he needs to be somewhat aggressive, but you don't wanna be too aggressive either and give DC the opportunity he needs to get the td. When using a sprawl and brawl strategy, I feel a more patient approach to striking is required. DC will be the aggressor cuz he doesn't wanna stand, so Stipe has to just stay patient, pick his shots and try his best to avoid all grappling exchanges.

Yh Bader is a good wrestler, but he's no DC. He needs better guys. And while Stipe is hittable, that Ngannou fight was the biggest chin test. Not saying DC can't crack, but he ain't no Ngannou. So Stipe's chin isn't really the worry for him in this fight...it's his defensive wrestling. DC can crack, but he's not really a good striker. We all know he'll be looking for the td.

Stipe has incredible head movement and footwork. I wouldn't count on DC being able to hit him much. Not with anything significant at least.

Yh Stipe showed improved head movement in the Ngannou fight, plus a good chin. I don't see DC touching him too much on the feet.

I think DC shouldn't have a big problem landing strikes in clinch if he can get fight there. I don't think those strikes would be very significant, but a well timed uppercut or something could definitely rattle Stipe's jaw a bit.

Stipe is favored to win for a reason, but it's not an insurmountable task for DC.

I don't foresee DC getting many opportunities to clinch. Stipe will use his footwork and reach and fight from the outside. The onus will be on DC to close the distance, but Stipe will box his face off with his precise counter striking when DC attempts to clinch. He's very good off his back foot.

I consider this to be as tough of a match up for DC as Jon Jones is, or at least very close to it.

It all depends on how Stipe's defensive wrestling is, but if he can shut DC's wrestling down like Jones can, this is possibly a tougher match up for DC than Jones cuz Stipe has that one hit ko power. Yes Jones ko'd DC in their last fight, but Jones doesn't have that one shot power like Stipe does. It's gonna be an interesting fight.

I foresee a battle of the underhooks on the fence, lol.

Outside of clinch and TD's I suspect Stipe would box the **** out of DC. I'm also not sure DC's technique and experience in clinch will overcome Stipe's physical size strength in clinch positions.
