Ortega has some slick boxing. Max just might be the best boxer in MMA.

Yh he has some decent boxing, but its really nothing special...especially when going up against a skilled volume striker like Max. And yh Max just may be the best MMA boxer indeed.

I don't train, but I think Ortega's striking is underrated. Unfortunately it seems like he has to rely on chin to make that work.

I really hope Ortega's corner would have stopped fight if the ref didn't.

His striking is a bit underrated by some. He has some decent boxing and muy thai skills, but he's no highly skilled striker and against one he'd get lit up. That's what we saw here tonight. I'll tell you one thing though he's tough as hell...maybe too tough for his own good. Took more shots than Aldo too.

Honestly i think he looked better striking than Aldo. Which is saying something.

I don't think you can call Ortega's striking underrated. It's decent until he meets a true striker.

He had Max's number in the third round. It was two true strikers against eachother. my opinion.

Really? I think Ortega does an awesome job of figuring a fighter out, but IDK if I'd call him a striker.

I feel like we're kinda passed that era. Ortega never shoots for the takedown (aside from this match) he has always been more than willing to stand and bang. And he gave Max waaaay more trouble than Aldo; the striking king

He was tagging Max in the 3rd, but I wouldn't say he was a true striker. I feel like he just adjusted his game and started to figure Max out a bit. I think some of it was Max getting a bit over confident too and standing right in front of him after he hit him.

That's all I'm saying, it's decent. It's not terrible. I mean he ko'd Edgar, who has pretty decent boxing.

                          I 1000% wouldn't call him a striker.

I blame that on the mma gods. They are a very fickle bunch. Frankie didn't deserve that lol.

Just saying the man won rounds, looked dangerous and at time looked like he could catch Max with that lethal uppercut. Almost NO ground or real grappling time and the man fought max standing for 4 rounds. hasn't happened to him since 2011

edit: I'd call him a striker. Or i'd call him an allround fighter. the man is def not a "grappler"

No he's definitely not just a grappler. He's an mma fighter. And yh either way you can't take anything away from him. He stood in there, never gave up and did better than Aldo, the former FW king. Think he even hurt Max at one point. The guy is dangerous.
