Which Weight Class In MMA Represents The "Average Guy" Build?

I'd say it's between Featherweight and Bantamweight. I'm leaning more towards Bantamweight because there are some big *** Featherweight like Zabit.

The average (non-obsese) guy walking down the street would most likely be a Bantamweight

    Probably LW or FW imo.

The average height for males is apparently 5'9" and 5'4" for women. The average weight is around 135lbs for the world. I would guess since majority of fighters are from the US that number probably be a bit higher.

I'm exactly the average guy. 5'11" 185 lbs and would be fighting at WW 170.

one might argue that would be lightweight 155, but I always thought the UFC did it wrong and it should have been 145, 160, 175, 190, 205.

if it was like that I'd probably do 160 if I felt tiny compared to 175 ers... I've stood next to a number of fighters, but Dan Hardy was almost exactly my size. Because he was a full time athlete he had bigger traps and forearms but that was it - would be weird to stand next to Rumble Johnson because he used to fight at welter (yikes) and I was next to Roy Nelson who seemed small (short), I didn't feel small next to him or intimidated at all.

Cain Velasquez is the same way. Ran into him at a Noodles & co. He just looked like an average, slightly thick mexican guy, with a big head. I was amazed thinking to myself that that guy could just annihilate literally anyone in this town.

Actually Andrei Arlovski was a big shocker to me as well, he just did not look like what I’d have thought. He was at a Starbucks, and just looked like an average build russian guy. He was wearing a sweater and jeans but still, wouldn’t stand out if you didn’t watch UFC.

Also when you see the guys from TAM, it’s striking how small they all look. They all look like midgets lol, so much shorter than they look on TV.
