    Anyone else notice this?

Maybe it's just because I don't watch wrestling as much anymore...but does anyone else notice that wrestlers never do a good old fashion pile driver anymore? You don't see many old fashion moves anymore...everything these days is so over-acted and overthought. What happened to the good old arm drags, leg twists, pile drivers etc. A couple of years ago a power-bomb would be someones finishing move, these days every heavyweight/strong wrestler seems to do powerbombs...it's just changed so much.

I've read that the WWE has banned certain moves (i.e. pile drivers) because there's too much risk for injury... alot of the new wrestlers nowadays (Cena, Orton, Batista to name a few) are very inexperienced before they sign with the WWE, in the past wrestlers would have years of wrestling experience before making it the WWE.

PileDriver was banned due to the accident that happened with Stone Cold Steve Austin..so, any move just about that has to do with anyone getting dropped on there head is not allowed.

Yeah that's what I figured...but I mean Stone COld's was an accident...accident's happen all the time. You don't see football players in bubbles because they risk breaking their necks on a hit. I mean I understand they want to keep their stars healthy, but if they're professionals, they should be able to pull off any move in their capabilities without much of a risk. I guess that's why I always liked ECW better, because they were more innovative, and more risk taking...less fluff more action. Truthfully, I only watch WWE when I flip on and happen to catch some divas, or see HHH getting the **** kicked out of him. Other than that, i shy away from it.

Longhorn, have you seen TNA? Try to find a Petey Williams match and the flip piledriver he does (Canadian Destroyer) and then you'll see all the risk you want. TNA is very high risk. Myabe not so traditional in style all the time, but pretty risky. Ever seen Turning Point and Elix Skippers' walk across the top of a 15 foot high cage into a hurricanrana?

What about the "Tombstone" Piledriver? Does 'Taker still do it? Don't watch smackdown, so I wouldn't know.

yeah, he does it, but pretty much only at PPVs, other than that its a chokeslam. I agree with WWE not having the piledriver, because it pretty much ended Stone Cold's career. He can't take hard bumps anymore. Imagine if that happened to Batista, Cena, Eddie, or Rey... all young talent that brings in butt loads of $$$, and their careers being cut short because someone like, example: Chris Masters who's new, and sucks royally, completely botches a pile driver agains Chris Jericho, or Shelton Benjamin?

Yes, I have watched TNA, but will not longer be able to watch it once they make the TV switch, because I'm personally not paying 30 bucks for a PPV. I will for the ECW one, but nothing else.

P.S. Didn't the Stone Cold incident happen it watch, 99 or 00? If that's the case, the argument it ended his career if pointless, because he had a very successful next couple of years.

I hear what you're saying, but...did you ever see the footage of that pile driver Stone Cold took?? I still cringe when I see it, because Owen Hart didn't just fall back, he jumped a little and Austin landed straight on his head. So to avoid something like that happening again they must figure the only way to lower the risk is to eliminate it altogether.

They are suppose to announce there deal with WGN on there PPV the 19th. It is rumored that they will then pick up and start that deal the next night with a two hour time slot.

But this only speculation as far as when there deal with WGN will take effect and twhat time they will be on and what not. The only thing clear about this is that the deal will be announced the 19th on there PPV.

The WGN deal is off, but another deal is in place and should be announced at the PPV.
