How would you book WWE for the next year?

    A little fantasy booking...

How would you book the WWE for the next little while..either maintaining the current feuds and storylines, or just book the WWE with their regular guys. You can either go as in depth as you want by posting your PPVs that you'd book or the TV shows you'd book or just simply say who would feud with who. Be sure to include toryline and character changes if you wish or have certain wrestlers switch shows, who would hold the titles etc.

Re: How would you book WWE for the next year?

Alright this is gonna take a while but I start with my first debuting characters...

        All American Hero-

Ok to start with I bring Mark Magnus back but under a mask, have him be something like Mr. America, like Hogan, but have a cover over his mouth and get Shane to do the voice or something. Anyways build him up in vignettes as an all american and have him do things like run around neighborhoods with his mask on helping little kids and playing baseball. Show him baking an apple pie, whatever. Do what I have to do to get him over huge. So bring him in around Survior Series have him do well, and maybe even win the Rumble but instead of asking for a world heavyweight match he ask for a US title match because it would mean so much more to him, to win it for the good ole USA. So come Mania Magnus win the US title against the un-american Davari....

Magnus wins the match in a squash, wraps himself in the US flag and clutches the title, by this point he's such a fan favorite he has little kids (plants) in the ring with sparklers celebrating the All American Hero's US title win against the evil Davari. Magnus ask for a sparkler and drops old glory and lights it middle ring. The crowd is stunned, All American Hero grabs a mic and says this is what he really sounds like, by this time most casual fans will have no clue who it is, they will forget Hassan ever was in the WWE. So he talks about how he is everything that is right with America, and on this special night he will show his face to America to show them all what a REAL American looks like. Bam takes off the mask and it's Hassan, crowd is now picking it's collective jaw off the floor. Crowd finally starts to boo and Hassan goes into a rant about how the fans are racist because when they realized he was arab-american and not just an american they boo him. Hassan denounces All American Hero and says Muhammad Hassan is back and here to stay. AEYEEYAAYAAHEAYAYAHEA hits and Hassan walks out to massive heat with his new US Title.

Next up I'll probably do a CM Punk storyline.

          Good one, Superstar.

I won't go into too much depth, as I'm not as creative as some of you...

          Benoit-Christian for the HW title.

Orton-Guerrero-Booker T. triple threat for the US title.

London-Mysterio for the CW title (London would be the heel).

I'd bring in Lesnar to go against Batista in a non-title feud.

I think I might have some of the lower card guys team up and have a tournament for the Tag titles.

Over on RAW, this is what I'd do. Have Cena drop the belt and turn heel. Maybe start up some kind of heel stable, perhaps with HHH. But regardless, I would turn Cena heel.

          Angle-Benjamin for the WWE title.

          HBK-Jericho for the IC title

I'm struggling with the tag division... I guess another tournament?

And here's where I'd incorporate an idea that was brought up on here a while back, bring back the TV title. Have some of the low/mid card guys or up-and-comers feud over that. Someone like Masters...

I guess that's it. I didn't put a whole lot of thought into this, just some random ideas off the top of my head.

Re: How would you book WWE for the next year?

Ok, I'm looking at the rosters right now and without booking the actual matches for PPVs, here are the goals I'd want to see accomplished and the feuds and storylines that can accomplish them for each brand. I'll do one idea per post. This one's simple, bring back more great matches and take all the focus off of the world title picture.

Wrestling, wrestling, and more wrestling! With guys like Viscera, Masters, Hassan, and the two champs Cena & Bautista, it's crystal clear that actual ring work is a distant second to mic work and storylines. For Smackdown, I'd love to see the Mexicools antagonize Paul London and soften him up for their leader, Juventud. As soon as this Mysterio angle with Eddy ends, I'd like to see Rey come to the aid of London and defend "the honor of lucha libre style wrestling" as he'll say in his first promo by Paul's side. In order to get Nunzio back in the picture, add another country to the mix when Big Guido debuts and give the Italians some time in the cruiserweight scramble.

Next, Benoit & Guerrero. If you let these guys go 20-30 minutes when they need to, you can make the art of wrestling popular again. The feud is easy. Once Eddy kills off the Rey angle, have these two guys revisit their world title moment at WMXX. Take them back to the Super J Cup '94 when the Pegasus Kid was victorious over Tiger Mask. Challenge these guys to out wrestle one another...and people will come!

On Raw, the equivalent of that matchup is Shelton vs. Angle. This feud begins when we all realize that Benjamin has nothing to gain in the IC title picture. No one on Raw can keep up with Shelton and give him a challenge besides Kurt Angle, this feud NEEDS to take place and has to elevate both as world title contenders...especially Shelton. Use team angle as the starting point and make this thing personal, and it will be classic for sure. If I were in charge, Charlie Haas would still be employed since he'd be perfect for this. I'd bring him back as a heel who turns on his former partner and embraces his mentor once again. Then, in the biggest return in wrestling history, Shelton's boyhood idle, Sting, returns!!! Ok, I know what you're thinking, this can't happen. So if not, Shelton vs. Angle is still pretty damn good!

For the WWE Championship, the only way to fix the mistake of naming Bautista champ is to bring back Brock Lesnar...I hate to say it. Have Brock come back, get over the desire to see him jobbed for his poor desicion, and let him expose Bautista. Bautista is Kane with a better frame...I'm sorry, I said it! Once the Beast is out wrestled, you can move in Chris Benoit and Eddy Guerrero as a part of their feud, competing on who can take out the "The Current Big Thing" as Lesnar will be known as. Job them both to Lesnar in some classic matches, then enter Christian, the brightest star in the WWE right now! Have him rip into Benoit and Eddy, presumably taking the side of Lesnar...until he calls him the Next Big Waterboy as he rips the NFL failure!! Can you say ratings? In the meantime, I see Orlando Jordan vs. Booker T and JBL vs. the Undertaker as good secondary feuds to the title picture.

I've already stated my preference for an Angle/Benjamin world title feud, so I'll wait till post # 2 to take Cena down a notch and rework the slipping Raw product.

Re: How would you book WWE for the next year?

              CM Punk

Have Punk debut on Smackdown, have him face the regular amount of jobbers, cruisers etc. Since this is the "E" his straight-edge gimmick will be heeled out, because we hate good guys who have morals. Punk goes on a cruisade(SP) against the man that lies, cheats and steals Eddie Guerrero. Punk each week picks a sin much like the movie Seven, and he beats the snot out of a wrestler that exhibts this sin. Each week he also cuts a promo on Guerrero saying he was his hero until his life turned for the worse, at this point I bring up some of Eddie's questionable real life past. I bring back Chavo Sr. and Eddie's wife to talk about how they don't have respect for him.

Eventually Punk who is borderline stalker at this point knocks Eddie out of the rumble. Eddie gets pissed but lets it slide. Eddie ignores Punk as just some crazy kid until Punk cost Eddie a number 1 contendership spot at No Where Out. This sets up a Wrestlemania match of Punk vs. Guerrero in a gimmick match of some sort. The match has to be very violent as the whole point is for Punk to beat the sins out of Eddie. In the end the underdog Guerrero pulls out the win and embraces his lieing, cheating and stealing ways because its the WWE way.

Alright that wasn't nearly as good as the Hassan one but I'm tired and making up this stuff as I go along. Next I'll try to get in the Boogeyman for the Raw brand.

Re: How would you book WWE for the next year?

i'll get more indepth and other ideas tomorrow, but here's a first run:

After SummerSlam, first Raw, I'd bring Ric Flair out to the ring where he discusses the death of Evolution, why it happened (untrustworthy members), and talk about how a truly dominant group is really bonded together like brothers. Which is why he's bringing back the 4 Horsemen, to rule over Raw. And the first member is HHH, bring him out, talk smack, etc. Over the next few Raw's we'd find out that HBK is the 3rd member, and then at a PPV we find out Hassan has returned to Raw to become the 4th horsemen (trying to figure out the best 4th guy, not sure he fits).

I really think Raw needs a solid stable like that, and either DX or 4 horsemen is the way to go (I doubt HBK would be up for the DX antics because of his faith now though). Not really fleshed out enough, but i'm tired

I can't do storylines like you guys are doing but fueds That I would book are as followed based off of the SmackDown, Raw and OVW Wrestlers.

Booker T Vs Chris Beniot ( based off of there fueds in WCW)

Eddie G Vs Mysterio (This could go in so many directions not this storyline now)

Christian Vs Jericho. (Two Canadian that can wrestle and could be a good fued about something in the past in canada and training)

Duece Shade Vs RVD (I don't know where I would go with them but, I like both there styles. Snuka Jr.)

Thats what I have. If anyone can figure out a storyline for mine please fill free do it so, I can see if there could be some tweaking...lol. Thanks

Re: How would you book WWE for the next year?

The way I look at it now, the Big Show might be the perfect guy to take out John Cena. Chris Jericho has an interesting feud going, but the match quality won't be there. The Big Show's size can hide Cena's lack of in ring ability and present him with a challenge too big to overcome. But that of course means the Big Show needs to turn heel, and that's exactly what he'll do when he's hired by Y2J after he loses to Cena via DQ. Remember when the Million Dollar Man bought the world title?? Well how about having the Big Show beat Cena and share his world title with Jericho, who promises to make Show a "big star" for his services. Jericho will be acknowledged as the champ and Show will defend his title when he's in concert...or just too tied up as the larger than life rock star that his heel gimmick portrays. It's a lot of work to take the belt off of Cena, I know, but I kind of like this idea. Carlito can be Jericho's underling since they just sided with one another and have these three keep Cena down while providing some decent entertainment as they try to make the Big Show a commodity.

So since a main event picture with Cena isn't pleasing for the wrestling purists, the idea of Angle and Shelton feuding over months and months is the ticket. Why not have them wrestle at every PPV for 3 months straight and have a "Best of" tourney?

Now, what about the three lovely letters of E-C-W? Since RVD will come back and win the IC title, let's bring back Paul Heyman to give Van Dam that extra appeal that those shoot interviews can give him. RVD will be Heyman's boy, his obsession to get over after years of being held down, and his mission to get promoted to the main event since he was undoubtedly the Whole F'N Show to the ECW product. Here's the idea: a stable of ECW wrestlers come back and jump Edge the night he puts his money in the bank contract in action. With Edge mutilated, the boys call for RVD to take his place, and ECW has finally put their finest wrestler in the main event...through force! The champ at the time, Y2J, is defeated by Mr. PPV as the ECW stable neutralizes Carlito and convinces the Big Show that he's been used by Jericho...who helps Van Dam pull of his FIRST world title victory.

Depending on how good RVD deals with the title and if the people stay high on ECW, you can set up a match against either of two men accused of holding down RVD and the ECW signees, Kurt Angle or HHH. A victory by Angle leads to a world title feud with Shelton. A victory by HHH leads to a world title feud with...the Nature Boy! With HBK tied up with Hogan right now, you can revisit a feud with HHH or Angle once he's freed. The ECW stable stays strong (no Ballz Mahoney type guys to water it down), puts together an Impact Players type team to win the tag titles (or bring back the Dudleyz) and keep RVD as the ECW poster boy who the fans come to see.

I'll only talk about a couple of ideas and such...
Ok first I have Jericho defeat Cena at SummerSlam and Jericho continue his "partnership" with Bischoff. After SummerSlam I use the internet to my advantage and have reports come out that RVD has been released from the company. Jericho rips on the fact ECW bums like The Dudleys and RVD were released anywhere he can TV, his internet site, radio interviews, everywhere for the two or so weeks following and stops. Jericho will cheaply escape every match against Cena until Jericho beats him cleanly at the Rumble in a Cena requested Street Fight. After Jericho's match he goes and trys to buy #30 in the Rumble so he could challenge for the Smackdown Championship and Unify the championships once again but this time at Wrestlemania. After he is unsuccessful in finding it he settles for #29 from Jeff Hardy (you'll see later) in exchange for Jericho convincing Bischoff to give him and Edge a tag title shot. Cena and Triple H eliminate each other setting up a match at Wrestlemania right before Jericho enters. Jericho plays to the crowd on his way in and really gets under their skin in the ring as he waits for number 30...yawning you know acting like it ain't no thing. Suddenly RVD's music hits as number 30. Jericho is stunned after a back and forth battle RVD eliminates Jericho. Next night on RAW RVD is a no show and instead shows up on Smackdown where the Undertaker, who won the Championship from Batista at Unforgiven after Lesnar returned and f-5'd Batista setting up a feud with each other, tells RVD he has no chance at Wrestlemania as he is undefeated there and accepts a challenge for that night. RVD upsets Undertaker for the Championship and defects back to Raw in an effort to also challenge Jericho. RVD's double defection sets off a string of defections with Superstars being all over the place confusing everyone. Vince McMahon appears on Raw talking to Tommy Dreamer and later on that show interupts a segment in which RVD is trying to convince Jericho and Bischoff the World Title shot he won was only for Wrestlmania and the Smackdown one didn't count against it. McMahon tells RVD that his title shot was sadly used up when he won the Smackdown Championship. However McMahon announces that he has decided to drop the brand split due to the mass defections but there are some rules; Each Superstar can only appear on one show per week, Titles will be show specific and the Champions must appear on the show their Title is for, and only the Undisputed World Champion and Womens Champion can appear on both brand shows each week. Vince sets up a match that night on Raw to unify the tag titles which will be Raw specific. Raw also got the IC championship and Smackdown got the Cruiserweight and US titles. Vince tells everyone that RVD will fight Jericho in a unification match at Wrestlemania.

It'd come out that the reason Vince was talking to Dreamer was Vince was hoping to return the Hardcore Division and it's Championship to Raw. Dreamer would say in ring that he has a better idea as he pulls the ECW Championship out of a bag. Bischoff goes nuts but Vince McMahon tells Bischoff that as long as he's around ECW will have a home on Raw. Bischoff hires Randy Orton or maybe Tazz for one last match to win the title for Bischoff so he can retire ECW once and for all. Also on Smackdown Teddy Long announces a tournament for the New Smackdown Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship.

At Survivor Series Matt Hardy joins Kane, Shelton Benjamin and Eugene against Edge, Snitsky, Carlito and Kurt Angle. Angle walks out after a mysterious figure walks off with his medals, which he just won back from Eugene. It comes down to Hardy and Kane vs Edge and Snitsky. Right as Matt is about to hit the twist of fate on Edge, Kane turns and takes out Hardy. Jeff Hardy returns and clears out the ring only to turn on his brother as well. Matt disappears for a few weeks only to defect to Smackdown a shell of his former self only to be helped by Christian. Christian and Hardy defect back to Raw a month or so after winning the Smackdown tag titles at Royal Rumble. Edge and Jeff Hardy win their promised Raw tag title match the night after the Rumble as well. As Edge/Jeff and Matt/Christian are about the square off in the ordered Vince McMahon unifying tag title match the Dudley's return and take out all parties. Setting up a TLC Unifying Tag Match at Mania. The man that took Angle's medals would turn out to be Muhammed Hassan. Angle would play the role of face and would say he'd rather have Eugene with his medals then some terrorists or such. Typical Super Face American vs Super Heel Foreigner.

Mania Card Would look something like this
                      Jericho vs RVD World Championship
Angle vs Hassan for Angle's Medals
                      HHH vs Cena
Jeff Hardy/Edge vs Matt Hardy/ Christian vs The Dudley Boys TLC Tag Unif.
Dreamer vs Orton/Tazz (if he could be coerced for one last match) ECW Rules
                      Batista vs Brock Lesnar
                      Cruiserweight Tag Title Finals
                      Maybe Throw in
                      Carlito vs Eugene IC Title
Austin vs Hogan (Been reported Hogan wants it to happen)
Shawn Michaels and Kane vs Undertaker and a now face Ric Flair would have a storyline.
and maybe a Cruiserweight Championship match if a filler is needed.

Hope this made sense because it's 1 in the mornin' and Im tired.

Re: How would you book WWE for the next year?

Finally, some good ol' fashioned tag team wrestling! It's been brought up but ever since the Rockers one night reunion, I realized how much I missed a great tag team match. The Hardys, Christian & Edge, and the Dudleyz were three great teams, and all we have now are Rosey and the Hurricane and two new teams on Smackdown, M&N and Heidenreich and Animal. I like those two teams, but I want to see Super Crazy and Psicosis have a say and a team from the proposed ECW stable have some success. Even a team like Danny Doring and Roadkill who I've seen on Heat could give some depth.

They've split up La Resistance and seperated the Bashems. It's time to build up some good teams that can wrestle and do it well as a team, both in their move set and in bringing back the tag team ring psychology. The bWo can have a team of 2 that wrestles, Nunzio and a debuting Big Guido, or how about a team of Tajiri and another superstar from that region of the world...Masato Tanaka, or someone even better if we could get them from overseas. There's plenty of young talent coming up and some indy stars yet to be signed. Look for talent, a dynamic pairing or compliment of two people, and make it happen. Guys like Chris Masters would be far less annoying if he was one half of a heel tag team, like a modern day Power And Glory with him being Hercules and a young, athletic partner to play Roma. See, now doesn't that sound better than the Masterlock challenge? The wonder of tag teams.

Pretty cool to read other people's ideas and how they overlap into things we want to see happen. Very entertaining thread.

Hey Superstar, can you tell me a little more about what kind of wrestler CM Punk has been in ROH or wherever you've seen him? After watching how unreal someone like Samoa Joe is on the Impact tapings and knowing that the two have feuded, I'm getting real close to buying some ROH DVDs.

I was just curious, does anyone play the fantasy booker/owner games TEW or EWR?

EWR for me only when I have a good game going though.
