    Combining The Shows

Did anyone else stop watching wrestling when they did this whole split thing with RAW and Smackdown? I just found Smackdown weak after that. Just my opinion. I would definately start watching again if they will combine the two back together.

    Re: Combining The Shows

Smackdown was the far better show in 2003. While scrubs like the Rock, HHH, and Stone Cold were busy taking turns wasting 20 minutes at a time on promos Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Matt Hardy, Rey Mysterio, and Jamie Noble were actually putting on good matches. Coincidently Thats also about the time Paul Heyman was in charge of booking Smackdown.....actually I dont think its a coincidence.

I would be for ending the brand split you know if HHH were crippled or dead. But seeiing him dominate both shows isnt something I care to see. Also They'd have to cut alot of dead weight and sadly the WWE's version of dead weight and mine are 2 completely diffrent things. You would see the diva to wrestler ratio go up even more and most of the wrestlers left would be stiffs like Tomko, Snitsky, Heidenreich, Vicera, and Batista because big guys with no talent give Vince a boner.

I'd love it if they cut the dead weight. Their idea of it that is. Masters vs Viscera on Raw RVD vs Christopher Daniels on Impact. Tough choice.

honestly do you just write stuff to get a reaction? Scrubs like Rock, Austin, and HHH? And what Noble wasn't a scrub? You're taste in wrestling is awful.

I don't know, I agree with just about everything sven said in that post. IMO, neither Rock, Austin, or HHH are very good in the ring. HHH is boring. Austin's act is old. I like the Rock out of the ring, but that's not enough.

He's talking about 2003 and basing it on in ring wrestling ability. HHH and Austin weren't that great then far as that goes. HHH hasn't been the same since he came back from that hamstring injury and Austin never was to me anyway. I always thought the Rock was avrage in ring so I won't say anything about him.

but then he said he wishes only for a brand split if HHH was crippled or dead, that's the ultimate smark comment. I'm just saying wrestling has always been about the guys that can draw money, not those that are the best wreslters.

I realize I may be part of the problem, but I'll take Rock and Austin over Orton, Batista, and Cena any darn day of the week. Maybe I'm just getting old, but the new upper tier guys just don't have "it", whatever "it" may be. I always feel like I'm having to lower my standards to be able to sit and enjoy a Batista promo, or a John Cena match. I never had to do that with those other guys when they were at their peak.

Those other guys could really go and make a match special when they were in the business. From the Rock doing commentary during his own matches to Austin sitting down and having a beer in mid match. You knew when those guys were wrestling you were gonna get a show. Now a'days the top guys don't do that kind of stuff. I could care less if they can wrestle a five star match. At least entertain me with your 3 star skill.

Agreed. Cena, Batista, orton couldn't have even shined the shoes of Rock, Austin and HHH during the prime of those three's characters. From Austin's pre-royal rumble beat down of everyone, to the Rock's classic promos, wrestling entertainment will never be as good as those two.

Nope Noble was a damn good wrestler in the WWE and has proven and even better one in ROH. Sadly(for me not him) I think he's on his way back to the big time.

And yet at 52 years of age, people still cheer their heads off for Hulk Hogan, who has less of a skill set than all of the guys you mentioned above. His matches are all the same, I think that's why it was so easy for them to switch roles in the Wrestlemania match against the Rock. Gone are the days of a wrestler being entertaining in and out of the ring. Austin's act really got old once he couldn't wrestle anymore. Triple H is a victim (his own doing) of overexposure. I bet if the Rock came back sporadically like Hulk Hogan does, they would cheer their heads off for him too. The closest thing you have to that today is Cena, and both his promo and wrestling ablity is suspect, but enough to get him over.

how is Cena's promo ability suspect? How do you think he got to where he is... Go look up his early heel stuff from Smackdown, the man is great, it's the writers that are watering down what he has to say.

Hogan has magic powers man. Plus he kicked Aarron Carter out of his house. Gotta love him for that alone.

I think Cenas promo ability is fine. He just makes me wanna vomit as a good guy. Gansta rapper with a heart of gold just doesnt work for me.

Granted, I've haven't heard all of his early stuff, but it you seemed to have answered your own question. Whether he was great back then or not, one thing is for certain, he wasn't the main atrraction. He wasn't featured then the way he is now. Now that he is, he's cutting these "cheapsauce" promos, making himself sound stupid. They weren't trying to make money off him then like they are now and if he is there future, then they should do more to protect him and not let him go out to the ring to sound like an idiot. The Rock definitely wasn't the greatest wrestler but at least when he came out to speak you stopped to see what he is going to say.
