    Wrestling Re-Invented

I was gonna make a post but figured it would be better to have visual evidance so I made a music video instead:

You were doing so well...then you had to go and include The SAT. The most contrived and sloppy tag team ROH has ever seen. But I do give you props for finding footage of the one time they actually got the Spanish Fly right.

wow that's some good stuff, but I'm starting to think I prefer a mat based match rather than all that high flying mainly because the high flying almost looks too choreographed(SP), the fact that most of the guys have to wait to take the move kinda pulls me out of the illusion.

can't watch it at work right now, but in general I tend to agree...I liked the high spot fest WWE for a while (TLC matches, etc), but it got old at some point...you can't keep topping yourself at that rate. I'll check this out when i get home tonight though.

Yeah. Its not bad in much smaller doses. But when you fill a 4 minute video with mostly high spots it can get old quick.

I like highspots like everyone else but it does get old. I remembered one of the TLC matches from a WM (can't remember which one) and I just couldn't watch it. It just feels contrived at times. Now if you were to give me a wrestling clinic with Benoit and Angle then i'd watch that for hours.

I just think WWE for the most part has never been about diversity in the move sets. That's why WCW was so good for a while they had luchas, muscle bound guys and technical wrestlers all in one card.

Wow some of those aerial high spots are incredible.

So many flips and twists. :y4:

I don't think I could ever watch CZW..that **** looks too intense for me.

I can't believe the brutality of some of those moves. That was a good video even though it was nothing but high risk moves.

Yes that's exactly the point. WWE is still like stuck in the 80's and doesn't take many risks anymore while everyone else does hence the title of the vid. AJ Styles said it well when asked during a TNA chat from a while ago:

                  "Chat Moderator says
You are a phenomenal performer Mr. Styles, but you are wearing THEE World Heavyweight Championship. How do you feel you rank against the likes of those who wore that belt before you, like Gotch, Strangler Lewis, Thesz, Funk, Severn, ect. ?

                  AJ Styles says
It's so different now. It's hard to compare. They had a showmanship that was different. Ours is about athletics. In theirs, if they just wiggled the right way or threw an elbow fans would go nuts. Nowadays, they want to see you drop a guy while he's fully standing. I think it's more demanding now than it was then so it's hard to compare."
