Smackdown on Friday delayed?

I guess UPN is gonna be airing a Hurricane relief special or something like that with other stations at the same time on Friday. Maybe just change the time slot for this week if that is possible. I am really looking foward to this week's Smackdown.



----According to several press releases issued Friday, all six networks (CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC, WB and UPN) will air "Shelter From The Storm: A Concert For The Gulf Coast." The hourlong, commercial-free special will attempt to draw donations for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Unless WWE prepares a one-hour edition of Friday Night SmackDown, there is no way UPN could air the show on Friday night. Specific plans for the show are not yet known, however, as UPN's press release made no mention of preemptions.

Interestingly enough, there are plenty of opportunities for UPN to air SmackDown. Because its fall schedule - other than the WWE show - does not kick off until 9/19, UPN can theoretically air the first "Friday" edition of SmackDown! on Thursday the 8th or Thursday the 15th.

Still airing on thursdays here in Canada so I guess we'll get it here no matter what.

On a side note why would 6 networks air the same thing? I dunno about other places but if you have 1 of those here you have 4 of them and the other 2 aren't carried here.

WWE will find someway to get their show on the air. There's money to be made. That's what Vince is all about.

This has happened before....usually whenever there's a disaster and people get together to try to raise money. I remember something similar shortly after 9/11.

Well it'll be a 1 hour showing at 9 EST after the concert it looks like. Very good, because they have two great matches lined up and it should be ALL wrestling. JBL and Batista arent the best in-ring wrestlers, but in a Bull-Rope match they'll keep me entertained.

I have a feeling that we will be getting the 2 matches as promoted during tonights Smackdown promo. I hope that they do show highlights of the other matches though.

Friday Night Smackdown is looking good even though an hour long.
