The game features over 65 real wrestlers from various decades and federations including possible classic rematches like The Road Warriors w/ Paul Ellering vs The Midnight Express w/Jim Cornette, Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs The Iron Sheik, or Brutus Beefcake vs Greg “the Hammer” Valentine. The game is great as it allows you to play either solo or head to head against a friend. Finishing and set up moves are personalized for every individual character and they are all there as the LOD has the Doomsday Device, The Iron Sheik has the Camel Clutch, Ted Dibiase has the Million Dollar Dream, and Jimmy Snuka even has the Superfly leap which can hit or miss that adds to the element of surprise.
You also can set up your own championships, storylines, and rivalries. The game allows you to be a promoter and a spectator as you can set up a No Dq match between Sabu vs the Sandman and watch all of it unfold to see who is the King of Hardcore. The game also allows you to make matchups you never would have thought of like Former NWA Champ and Legend Harley Race against Former UFC Legend Dan “The Beast” Severn.
I’ve owned the game the Legends game for over 2 years now, and the Champions of the Galaxy game for over 10 years and would highly recommend it to fans of cards and dice games.
The drawings of the wrestlers are great and done by some of the most respected artists in the comic and game design community. Guys like Jonathan Bendis, Sonny Strait and Hannibal King have worked and drawn for major companies like Marvel and Dragonball Z. It’s simple to play but at the same time allows strategy in different areas and is very easy to customize to your personal liking or enjoyment. Your wrestlers actually wear down opponents trying to set up your finishers.
Fans of the game even created a yahoo group and have various websites for their self made versions of wrestlers who may not be allowed in the game for contractual reasons. If you’re a fan of vintage wrestling the way it use to be, just a current fan looking for something creative, or like me and just enjoy wrestling in all its forms (Video games, cards and dice, and figures) you should go to www.filsingergames.com and check the game out and its message boards to see some of the fans of the game and just a pretty good online community.
Can’t say enough about it as a fan and this isn’t an employee of the company or anything like that saying this just a fan that really enjoys it and is always looking for people to talk to the about the game. I’ve met numerous online friends just through chatting about this game. If you don’t believe me check out the boards and ask players yourself. It’s a cool game that allows you to do some creative stuff with some of your favorite wrestlers of all time.
