Batista done for a year with a torn lat....

    From PWInsider-

WWE World champion Batista suffered a muscle tear in his back at tonight's Smackdown taping in Indiana. During a show closing angle,

Batista was hit with a double chokeslam.
When Randy Orton came down to the ring for their post-taping dark match, Batista was still down and remained on the mat for some time. They did a quick three minute match which featured Orton on offense followed by a quick spinebuster for the pin.

When Batista returned to the locker room, it was said that he had obviously torn his latissimus dorsi, a muscle on the upper back that connects under each arm. The muscle was said to have appeared to have rolled up. Batista was in a lot of pain. WWE was making arrangements to have him checked out tomorrow, presumably by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama, who has treated major injuries for a number of WWE stars.

Huge blow to Smackdown.... I guess a tourny for the title? Could we see Mr. Kennedy......................Kennedy get a monster push for the title? Or do they give it to Taker as a transitional champ? So many possibilities, and this ruins WM of Batista/Orton.... Sucks for Tista but we all knew this was coming.

Damn and Batista is no spring chicken either. The guy is in his mid/late 30s I believe. This really screws things up for SD!. I would love to see a Tournament angle played out but I doubt WWE does that.

Well this stinks big time for SD. It would be great if they had a tournament for the title but I don't think that will happen or who knows.

I guess we can expect Edge getting the belt soon.

I know that a torn lat is a serious injury...but...I don't see anywhere in that report that says he will be out of action for a year.

Actually i've heard Eddie Guerrero is the #1 contender, unless I read wrong.

I could see them transitioning onto Eddie winning the belt, I mean he is way over, even if he probably was going to turn at some point, so that is a perfect way to do it. That is a HUGE blow for SD though.

This will definetely open SD up. Anyway I was getting tired of Batista killing everyone anyway. This could be a good thing. Not a year though.
