John Cena: why the hate?

This question would seem contradictory after I read the last few posts in the SURVIVOR SERIES thread but I was listening to the LAW (LiveAudioWrestling ) and they were talking about how the fans are turning on Cena with Rocky Die! levels of hatred.

I dunno, I like the guy. His character can be grating at times but I think he does an ok job in the ring compared to most of his contemporaries. They were saying that fans started to turn on him during the Chris Jericho feud but unfortunately I wasn't watching WWE at that time. So could you guys back this up or tell me it's all BS?

BTW according to Dave Meltzer the big plan is SPOILERS (don't read below if you don't want to know) but the plan may have to be changed due to the fans wanting to turn Cena heel. They were saying that if the WWE wants to keep Cena a face then maybe they should put him out of the title picture and hope the fans won't resent him.

I want Cena to lose the belt (I think Angle should have won one of these matches they've had), but I REALLY don't want him to lose it to HHH. It has been so nice with him out of the picture.

I dislike Cena's gimmick, it's just gotten old and stale to me over time. Why do you think he's not cutting long promos much anymore? Cena himself seems like a pretty cool guy, and I don't mind his matches, somewhat formulaic, but i can enjoy them.

Well I cant stand him anymore because his character has become a cartoony charicature of itself. Butt kissing thug with a heart of gold just doesnt work for me. At the very least least they should have kept him a badass tweener like Stone Cold used to be.

Also the fact that his wrestling started getting consistanly worse the second he became a face doesnt help either.

Fans really have a tendency to turn on wrestlers that get pushed too fast and too soon. Basically what the WWE does with every young guy who is talented. Which is stupid in my opinion because most people care more about a veteran who has been so close, so many times finally winning the belt than a guy that has been around 2-3 years winning the Rumble and then winning the belt at Mania. Cena has talent but I think that Vince and company is looking so hard for that next "Austin" or "Rock" that they are overvaluing alot of the young guys, mainly Cena.

I loved cena as a heel, but he has just gotten stale to me. I hate it when a guy turns face and then resorts to kissing the fans ***. I hope a heel turn is in the works. My main problem is his belonging in the main event, or lack their of; his wrestling matches are quite frankly of a very poor quality. I'd rather see a guy who could put on a good show in the main event personally.

His best wrestling match was his debut, he hasnt even came close to that recently.

I liked heel Cena better too. Promos were great and he was much better in ring than he is now. I actually like his match vs. Brock for the title (forget wich title it was) best.

I don't like his gimmick, plus he's not that good of a wrestler to begin with. That's just my opinion though.

My dream scenario? Cena loses belt to Angle, Cena feuds with Flair to get IC belt? Unless HHH gets it first....HBK wins the Rumble in dramatic fashion! HBK vs Angle at WM 22 with Shawn coming out on top! Then Angle can be given a vacation for a few months to recover. I like this scenario. Then maybe HBK & HHH can feud with an eventual Summerslam Belt vs Belt match with, who else?, HBK winning somehow. Kick ***.

I hope not. I don't want to see another match with HHH vs HBK, or Angle vs HBK either. I want something new. Maybe Trips beat Cena, or Show beat Cena and then Trips and Show fued. If the Show Trips fued happens, where does that leave Kane?
