Actually the cowardly heel has been around for EONS. People tend to forget that because of the whole "Attitude" era in the late 90s when everyone was a tweener and a badass to one degree or another.

That was the great thing about the "Attitude" era IMO.

As far as Shane, you gotta love the guy, but you know he'll never top his old material and if he does indeed become gm i'll throw up if every week hes getting intimidated by wrestlers and pushing an agenda ala bischoff...

Yeah, They used to have Hunter as a major, major heel and he wouldnt back down to anyone. If someone got into his face like Show did last night, instead of backing away they wouldve had him get into it even more. We need to get that ruthless (even besides Flair) Hunter back.

I wouldn't say that HHH was cowardly with Big Show. I think it was more surprise and shock that Big Show confronted him the way he did.

Yeah, but in previous angles, Triple H has acted very cowardly and backed down when in previous years he'd go at the guy fast and furious.

That's my point. If he was a good guy, like he was for a little while. He would have bashed him. Now that he is a bad guy he cowards down. Its a difference in backing down like a coward or getting your ace kicked because you stood up. That is the problem with the angles of today. Case in point when Austin is a good guy he whips everyone. Remember when he was a bad guy, he couldn't fight his way out of a paper back, Rock was the same way. My point is when they turn bad they shouldn't have to turn into vaginas. If they lose because they are bad thats cool, but they don't have to be cowards because their bad guys.

No but I'm talking about when HHH was a heel during the 1998-2000 timeframe.

I still remember what I consider "the summer of HHH". He was a heel and he and Chyna would stop at nothing to get the title. He put Foley in a casket and smashed it with a sledge. Beat the crap out of Billy Gunn. All of this leading up to him winning the titled at Summerslam or sometime around there. That was when HHH's character took on all comers. Those were the days. Before the whole McMahon-Helmsly Era.
