Its good, its just all clips so you can make your own calls on how WCW died.

Has anybody read the book "The Death of WCW"?

When I was watching this I started to get into and didn't think it was that bad like entertainment wise...but as things went on the Heels constantly winning, and Goldbergs heel turn was a joke. The New Blood's whole thing with dumping blood on people was really lame, and WCW did some other tasteless acts that you will see. Another big problem I think that happened in the year 2000 was how many times the World Title changed hands, it seems like every month there was a new champion.

        Re: The Demise of WCW

I didnt like how they couldn't admit the nWo thing had run its course. It seemed like at the end there, there was a different faction of the nWo every week, and it was just too much to take serious. It had run its course. The backstage politics is what really hurt it, even at good times, that was a problem.

But the one thing I can say, is that WCW did use its mid card guys well, the problem was, they never got a chance to go any further than that.

As much as Saturn, Eddie G (R.I.P.), Dean Malenko, Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit seemed to bitch about WCW, none of them can ever say the were misused.

Yes, Saturn had to wear a dress briefly, but WCW made him look like a winner. Raven's Flock, the feud with Glacier over the 'Cryonik Kick', the feuds with Jericho, DDP, Raven, Kanyon... The Revolution. That's better than, say, falling in love with a mop!

Dean Malenko.. A hugely respected cruiserweight talent. Blistering feuds with Rey Misterio and Chris Jericho, not to mention his multiple United States runs as champion; and his part as a 4 Horseman. That's better than just throwing out his whole character and turning him into a Lita Stalker/Ladies Man/Jobber.

Chris Benoit... a 4 horseman, his feud with Dungeon of Doom, and more notedly his feud with Kevin Sullivan over Woman. Feud with Raven's Flock, or DDP, or Jarett or Sid, which culminated in him becomming World Champion. It took him 5 years WWE to get the championship, where he played 3rd fiddle to HHH and HBK, and then lost the belt to 2 year green horn Randy Orton of all people.

Eddie Gurrero... The leader of his own faction, the LWo, a brilliant cruiserweight, his feud and tag teaming with nephew Chavo as Los Guerreros... something WWE copied from WCW by the way... And althought the LWo was cut short, it had to be for two reasons. Eddie had a car accident, no one was sure how he was going to be after that; and also the LWo was just watering down the nWo scene, with BnW and Wolfpack and WCW all around at the same time. Eddie hasn't been misused by WWE, unless you count the horrible Eddie heel turn on Tajiri and Dominic Saga with Rey Misterio, and the insult to fans inteligence with the ''I just can get a win over Mysterio'' storyline. Wait....

Chris Jericho crys, but he was a cruiserweight champion and a TV champion (if I remember correctly)... if not, there's the feuds with Alex Mysterio, Alex Wright, Dean Malenko... There's um, Ralphus... But as far as Goldberg goes... it's Goldberg who ''doesn't do comedy characters'', whcih is what Jericho was, and if Goldberg has a creative control clause in his contract and vito's a program with Jericho, then there's not much WCW management can do about this. At least Jericho got speared in the isle instead of just dropping it cold. As far people not taking him seriously, it would appear that WWE didn't either, because when he was champion, he was not the focus of the show, playing second fiddle to the nWo and HHH's return, and became Stephanie's bitch. When he lost the title he found his way to jobbersville permenantly

Main Eventing isn't everything. They were always involved in some kind of storyline. I can't really remember a time when any of those workers were off our TV screens....

Have I read it? How about 3 times...Love that book...Sad to read some of it though because I enjoyed WCW for so many years...Still upset they had to die out. Had they only stopped the bleeding before it got too out of hand.
