TNA Possibly Wants To Get Rid Of Raven

Raven has been written off TV for the next four months in an effort to save money and cut costs. "Rumor" is that Raven was costing the company $1500 per show appearance and not really paying off in the long run. Some believe that this may be TNA's indirect way of letting Raven go. Many feel that without receiving a check from TNA for 16+ weeks, it will force Raven to part ways with the company.

I can't believe that TNA wants to get rid of Raven. But on the other hand, they have wasted his talent this last 1.5 years.

it seems that most companies do waste Raven's talent. Is there anywhere he can go that will properly use his talents?

I don't think he can really go anywhere but Japan at this point.

Piss poor management, just fire the guy if you don't want to use him.

Re: TNA Possibly Wants To Get Rid Of Raven

Well something TNA does is they allow there wrestlers to have like some creative control over there characters. Now Raven seems like he can't choose if he wants to be the WWE Raven or the ECW Raven, he seems like he's been battling himself for years. Also he's out of shape and hasn't looked good in the ring since he last won the title. That is probably why they had him drop the title, because he was wrestling so poor in the ring.

So I understand letting him go, but they should just flat out fire him instead. If he wants to continue all he has to do is lose weight and figure out which bloody character he wants to use.

That's alright. He needs to retire anyway. He needs one last real match though (as in not in some pissant indy 2 people have heard of),can't go out like that.

                edit

Just found this it's apprently from the wrestling observer:

"To correct an earlier report, Raven is not on his way out in TNA.

The current plan is for Raven to be out of action for around ten weeks and to return in April around the Lockdown PPV. Jackie will apparently be part of his return and it will center on the controversy in Canada.

The part that got construed is that Raven has been receiving one of the highest sums per appearance in TNA and TNA does not wish to pay him this. That is not correct in any way, shape, or form as many in TNA actually feel that Raven should be making more for his valuable contributions to the company.

The real story is that Raven, while out for the ten weeks, will not be getting paid as he is paid per TNA appearance. To add to the matters more, Raven is currently suffering from a huge health issue due to his past history of drug abuse, both recreational and performance enhancing. In fact, his thyroid is so damaged at this point that Raven is almost not able to drop weight and he is way over the 270 pound mark as of right now, almost 25 pounds over his regular weight.

The plan for Raven to be off TV for these ten weeks was set in stone month's ago and this has nothing to do with his health problems and if the booking committee had realized the severity, they would have tried to help Raven out. Even more, Raven has reportedly kept this issue under wraps to help out TNA and not over-extend the booking committee, which is just the kind of person Raven is. To say TNA is unhappy with Raven or the amount he is getting paid is perhaps the most incorrect thing to say at this point.

We will have more on Raven's health in the future, but right now, his slot with TNA is safe."

More important is that he finds a way to get himself some help. I don't want to see Raven (Scott Levy) dead or even hear about it. Scott is 42 years old this year, so his body has taken a toll from bumps, drugs, and all kinds of other Sh*t. Please Scott get some help and TNA please do something to help him out.

Amen...Everyone has to say goodbye at some point, sadly most wrestlers have very little to fall back on financial after it is all said and done.

                    Wooooo...1,000 post.

Congrats on 1000 posts. I think that Levy also has a degree to fall back on.

Think he's actually a mensa member...and he hates it when wrestling fans call him his real name He wrote a pretty big rant on it.

Re: TNA Possibly Wants To Get Rid Of Raven

                            Here's a new update:
In a retraction to an earlier report here on the site, Raven is not on his way out of TNA. In an earlier report, it was said that Raven is on rocky ground with management, but this is not true. His time off of TV has been planned for months, and when he returns the story will focus on the "Controversy in Canada" show where he lost the NWA title.

What is true is that Raven will not get paid during his time off of TV, because his contract is structured so that he is "paid per appearance."

Raven is currently suffering from a severe thyroid problem, from his years of drug (recreational and prescription) abuse. It is causing him to gain weight and making it extremely difficult to drop it, and he is now near the 270lb mark. Raven had tried to keep this issue under wraps from TNA management, so that they would not have to alter the storyline and make more work for them. This is not affecting his role in the company, as many feel that the break is coming at the perfect time.

There is no truth to the earlier reports that TNA is unhappy with Raven. We apologize for the earlier confusion in the report.
