    Big Name back for SNME...

The plan is for Jim Ross to make his on-screen WWE return at next week's "Saturday Night's Main Event" telecast on NBC.

There had been talk that WWE wanted to reintegrate Ross into storyline, at least for the short-term, as part of the build to WrestleMania, and it seems as if WWE has officially decided on a date.

Ross will be commentating this event, although it is not believed he will be brought back as a full-time announcer for RAW or SmackDown.

Ross, who remains under WWE contract, has been off WWE TV since his on-air "firing" late last year.

At least they're not bringing him back full time, I'd puke if they were bringing him back and booting Joey out of the announcer's booth.

Maybe they can bring him back for the big 4 PPVs or atleast WrestleMania.

Joey is quite possibly the biggest dissapointment I've had with WWE recently. The guy just can't hold his own. He can't direct the traffic of Coach and King and he's not nearly as good as advertised. Heyman has even said this, and even has gone as far as to say that he is the reason Styles was any good cause he edited him in post production to make him look good. If Ross was brought back it would be the biggest blessing for the WWE, fans miss him and Raw just misses the umph he used to put in the shows.

I like Joey, but I truly think he could be better off, in the short term, of being a color guy with JR and King. Coach could be away from RAW during the NCAA Tournament while he hosts the NCAA Tourney show for College Sports TV. That way, Joey can learn from one of the best in the business.

Are you kidding me??? At least Joey can call the friggin' match and knows the names of the moves used...he also always talks about WWE storylines and incorporates continuity into his commentary, something J.R. NEVER does. You can't really blame him for the idiocy of Coach (why he's even in the booth is beyond me) as all he does is constantly interrupt the other two and make ridiculous, almost shoot style comments...Styles and Lawler work just fine together. All J.R. does is overblow and oversell EVERYTHING and trip and fumble all over himself, his time is done...the WWE needed to move on and they have. Styles is far and away better right now, period.

Joey's not getting the full shot cause stupid Coach is in the commentary booth...that means Coach is the heel, Lawler is the face (which is just stupid), and Joey's just kinda there talking...at least with just JR and the King it was back and forth, that's what Joey needs....

This is a good idea, I remember when Gorilla Monsoon was being phased out that they had him on as a "host" type for the big PPVs. Actually I watched SS '94 and the announce team was Vince and Gorrilla on colour. Let's just say that that was not the way I wanted to remember the guy. He couldn't relate to the action in the ring and spoke a little too loudly. It was very sad.

I think that JR has a bit more left in the tank and thus having him involved in commentating on the big 4 PPVs is an excellent idea.

As for Joey Styles....I've been exposed to his ECW work and he seemed a lot more enthused and confident in his delivery. He had a loud and distinctive voice but his WWE work is lacking. He sounds too much like Coach at times and he can't direct the flow of the commentary. He also doesn't have that "oomph" that JR had in selling the big moments. Many a great RAW and PPV ended with JR going ape shat or talking loudly in a growl type voice. Styles just seems a little too pedestrian. I don't know if he's holding back or what but it hurts the product a little.

In calling the moves only. He's never been told not have a spine.... which has clearly been the case so far with the 3 man crew.

Yeah, it's like he's afraid. He gets clowned by Coach and doesn't say anything! Lawler tries to set him up, but sometimes he doesn't get it. A two man booth would work alot better. He seemed to have more chemistry with Coach.

On a funny note, he's replaced Micahel Cole as the bitch announcer in the WWE. Seriously, even Cole clowns him on SmackDown.

It's a shame, too. When he was introduced at Taboo Tuesday I jumped up from my couch and yelled in excitement. I was truly happy for the guy. But this three man booth just isn't going to work.
