Going to my first ROH show tomorrow...
I've never seen or heard about ROH till I came across it on this board. My buddy is a wrestling nut and told me he'd buy me a ticket for $20 . I told him that I'd check it out. He told me that Somoa Joe and AJ Styles were going to be there so I was game as I like both wrestlers. It's in Chicago Ridge, IL tomorrow night. For those of you that have gone to an ROH show, what can I expect? Thanks fellas."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." Yeah Lance Storm is supposed to be there but I don't know who he's wrestling. I'm not familiar with Bryan Danielson. By your post I take it that he's a good wrestler?"You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."

He and Storm should put on a great match, plus you have the emotion of Lance Storm making his first in-ring appearence since the One Night Stand PPV.Comment

Plus, anytime you have Samoa Joe at an RoH event it's worth it...that man is pure money there, even more-so than in TNA.Comment

I've never been to a wrestling event of any kind (doubt I'd enjoy it cuz of my eyesight anyways) but it's cool that you're seeing some of the great indy talents out there.
BTW I hate to be a nitpicker but this should be in the general wrestling forum.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Going to my first ROH show tomorrow...
It's not really so much what he does differently...but if you're expecting the bad-*** TNA bad-guy you'll be in for a surprise.
He seems 10x more fun-loving when he's at an ROH event, he is so over there it's not even funny. He'll egg on the crowd and have them behind him for the entire match. Plus he does the "Ole, Ole Kick" at RoH events too, only it's so much more entertaining as the crowd really gets behind him when he does it there.Comment

Sounds like a lot of fun. I'll make sure I post my thoughts about my experience at the event. Thanks again for the wrestling knowledge."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."

I'm sure goh or sven could give you some better RoH knowledge than I can...but that's what I have to offer you, haha.
Enjoy it man, and yeah, I'd love to hear your thoughts after the event.Comment

Re: Going to my first ROH show tomorrow...
My reactions to my first ROH show is WOW! I had a blast. Jim Cornette said that the show was the largest crowd ever at an ROH show. The announced attendance was 1600. That was cool but the best part of the show was the actual wrestling. Some of those guys are simply amazing! I saw moves that I've never seen before. I don't even think I can explain some of those moves I witnessed.
Somoa Joe got the biggest reaction from the crowd during his four corners match against AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, and Jimmy Wang. Joe ended up winning by giving AJ the muscle buster. After the match Joe grabbed the mic and expressed how great the Chicago wrestling fans. He then stated that he wanted his ROH title back. Danielson then came out to chants of Joe's gonna kill you, Joe's gonna kill you! He rebutted by saying that Joe would not be killing anyone tonight. Danielson then led the fans into a chant of Lose some weight Joe! It was pretty funny but Joe just smirked.
This wrestler Delirious was pretty funny because he speaks jibberish. He doesn't talk but instead makes sounds like a total nut. Also, this guy Hero came out and jumped Cornette. I think he's terrible. He sucked.
I couldn't stay for the Lance Storm fight because I had to go out with my friends that night and it was already almost midnight. Overall, I had a great time and appreciated what I had seen. I would definitely not hesitate to go to another show. Actually I am looking forward to it.Last edited by SidVish; 04-06-2006, 10:35 PM."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." Re: Going to my first ROH show tomorrow...
I was supposed to go to this show. But when Low Ki (along with Milano Collection, Abyss, and Jay Lethal) parted ways with ROH I pretty much did too.
And yeah Hero is pretty horrible. He's another reason I've lost interest. He's all cravates and submission moves that never have anything to do with the end of the match. When you hear WWE guys talk about indy guys not knowing how to tell a story in the ring they are speaking of guys like Hero.
Delirous is money. TNA should really use him in place of Shark Boy. He's twice as funny and twice the wrestler. I have one of his T-shirts. He almost ripped my arm off at a show last May but it was totally worth it.
Sucks you had to miss Storm. Sucks I missed him too but I just wasnt feeling the 3 and a half hour drive.
1600 is a helluva lot for that building too. I think the highest count for Chicago Ridge before that was 1000 for CM Punks send off.Comment
