- On ESPN Radio's The Herd show today, Colin Cowherd went on a rant ripping on wrestling fans, calling them "booger eaters", and to turn the radio off because he was going to have grown-up talk. It was a lead-in to talking about steroid usage and that NFL athletes are the best in the world and that you couldn't get any bigger or in better shape than them without steroids. He then took pot-shots at wrestlers and fans for a while longer, continuing to call them booger eaters, saying they lived in their parent's basements, and that 90% of his audience is above them, basically the same generalizations the mainstream press makes on a regular basis. He then implied that Eddie Guerrero was on steroids when he died, took a couple more shots at wrestling fans, calling them morons, and then moved on.

Any wrestling fan who still gets riled up by generalizations like this should probably just move onto some other hobby. Wrestling will always have a stigmatism, it always has. Nothing is ever going to change this. I don't care how many wrestlers become mainstream celebrities. I don't care how big it becomes. It's just like Nascar. No matter how popular it may be, there is always going to be the hick/redneck tag associated with it. You just have to learn to accept it and simply not care. Really, it's not a big deal. Wrestling fans need to just realize that criticism like this come with the territory and there is nothing that is going to stop it. Revolt and throw tantrums at these people all you want, it just doesn't matter. I used to like his radio show when I would go to school in the mornings, but comments like this from anyone just piss me off.
ESPN has continually bashed the World Wrestling Federation for years and years. It's sort of as if they are jealous of Vince McMahon or hold him in contempt for something. They hate wrestling and Vince, and yet, as the HYPOCRITES that they are, steal one of the brilliant ideas from the XFL, the "sky cam" and then use 'em on their own broadcasts as "original features". Wow, it seems Cowherd can't even come up with his own material and when he does it turns into scathing insults. How old is this guy? I bet he was a huge wrestling fan as a kid and is bashing the industry to make him look "cool". I bet if wrestling got hot again he'd say good things and have a couple wrestlers on his show.

Some TNA people were on Steven A Smith's show this past week, and Steven A actually took the whole thing pretty seriously. He never once asked about wrestling being fake, or any of that stupid nonsense. It's obvious this Cowherd turd just spouts off this crap so that more people will listen to his stupid show.
